Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo have reportedly signed on to helm Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 and 2.

According to Badass Digest, the Russo brothers will follow up directing Captain America: Civil War with the two-part blockbuster superhero film, with an announcement coming soon. Rumors popped up late last year that pointed to the Russos as Marvel's top choice for The Avengers 3.

Director Joss Whedon, who's helmed the first two Avengers films, already announced that he wouldn't be returning for Avengers 3. As for writers, Captain America movie scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are reportedly in talks to pen Avengers 3, especially since they work so well with the Russo brothers.

The first part of The Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit the silver screen May 4, 2018, with Captain America: Civil War slated to premiere May 6, 2016.

Good choice, they did a great job on Winter Soldier.

I still think it's incredible that we're hyping up for movies that will release in 2018 and 2019, especially when there will be (and already has been) numerous prequels that lead up to Infinity War.

I just want them to fight Thanos already

I've learned to like him even though he's a Darkseid ripoff.

Whether it be in Guardians 2 or just an after-credits scene in one of the Phase 3 films, I want to see Thanos unleash hell before we get to Infinity War. We've seen him in a few films, but really he hasn't really done anything. We know he's one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy, but we're yet to see why.

I'm not really a big comic reader, they weren't a massive thing in Australia when I was younger... I should really try to get into it though, I basically watch all of the superhero T.V shows and films out there.

Ahh nice. Yeah definitely, comic books are even better than the things they inspire (movies/shows,etc.) They're great! Although, to be fair, Marvel's comics aren't nearly as good as DC's, even though their movies are way better.

DC has Marvel covered on TV though, that last episode of the Flash dished up some of the best television I've ever seen.

Ohhh yeah. That was amazing. Yeah, DC has better shows, comics, games, and animated series' than Marvel.

Although, in my personal opinion, DC also has better movies. I preferred Watchmen, The Dark Knight, and Constantine (Yes, I actually loved that movie) over anything Marvel ever made.

I'd say DC has the better animated films as well, at least from what I've seen.

Can't really comment on the comics, but everything else I'd agree with.

I am one of few people who actually likes Man of Steel

I loved Man Of Steel too. I don't understand the hate for it, I really don't. It took Superman in a completely new, and much better, direction.

The Dark Knight was incredible, out of all the DC/Marvel films it's probably the best there is. Saying that, the way that Marvel has constructed the cinematic universe and the fact that each film (and Agents of Shield) builds towards and connects with the next gives them the edge.

I understand when people say it was over the top with its destruction (tho what movie isn't?) and how his dad keep sending mix messages, but other than that I didn't have a problem with it. People get all bitchy about him snapping Zod's neck, it's not like he wanted to and after doing something like that and realizing he killed one of the last members of his race he regrets it but he felt like he didn't have a choice and begged Zod to stop.

I thought it was OK. I didn't have a problem with him killing Zod, because he had literally no choice, but I didn't like the whole "destroy every single building in Metropolis" thing, because it seems like he's the kind that'd at least try to keep the destruction down.

Simply out of interest, I've decided to see how I've rated Marvel and DC films, and see who I've actually rated the highest. I'm going to include every live-action film that I've seen, starting with the first Spider-Man film, because that's really when superhero films made their big return, and I don't think it's fair to judge DC on those old Batman films. So that's from 2002 onwards.

After performing this incredibly scientific act, I find that my average Marvel rating was 3.5/5, whereas my average DC rating was 3.7/5. However, I have yet to watch several films from each that fit the criteria, so this may change. I'm actually going to make it a priority to do so, and then THE BATTLE WILL FINALLY BE SETTLED.

I agree. I dont like AoS but I like how Marvel has everything connected.

For me personally, I liked GOTG the best out of every DC/Marvel film, followed VERY closely by TDK. Which is funny since I love Batman and prefer Batman over everything else.

I think it made sense since Zod is way stronger than Superman, so there was literally no way he would be able to evacuate him from there. Especially since Zod's intent was on destroying Earth.

You've seen GOTG, right? And Watchmen?

From Spider-Man and up, DC hasn't made a single movie I didn't like and Marvel has made a few. But to be fair, Marvel's also made more movies. But Marvel also made less movies I liked than DC did.

Marvel movies I liked: Winter Soldier (Cap America 2), Avengers, GOTG, and Spider-Man/SM2.

DC: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Watchmen, Constantine, and Man of Steel.

That's the list of movies I need to watch. Everything else I have seen. I'm counting absolutely everything that originated in a Marvel or DC owned comic, by the way, I'm even counting things like Men in Black (the second and third at least) for Marvel.

I'll stick my ratings in a spoiler, so you can see how I've arrived at this conclusion.

Although Mark Millar works for Marvel, neither Kingsmen nor Kick Ass were Marvel.

Also, wow, how did I forget about V for Vendetta? I loved that movie when I was younger. I actually based my first character off him.
