Sony and EON Productions revealed the new teaser poster today for SPECTRE, the upcoming 24th James Bond movie.

The artwork seen below features Daniel Craig's 007 rocking a very Steve McQueen in Bullitt look. The posters come via the official 007 site:







In SPECTRE, a cryptic message from James Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

The Sam Mendes-directed sequel also stars Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Andrew Scott.

I like the gun shot hole that looked like an octopus more.

If Spectre has that same classic James Bond feel to it that Skyfall did, then this will be an awesome movie.

Batista is in it too, interesting to see how he plays his villain/assassin role.

I think the actual promotional poster for this will be more complex. This is just to keep people talking.

And I'm just glad the Bond films are now all rolling into one another. The only thing that bugged me about the old ones is that they were only ever loosely connected at best.

The way that most of the movies are basically standalone films has always been a downfall of the Bond franchise. At least in this way, even if they reboot the canon each time there is a new actor playing Bond, we'll be able to see some plot progression and character development through a series of films which hopefully leads to better films.

I think if the films were connected more we would have seen more reboots. I read arguments that movies like The Living Daylights and Goldeneye were actually reboots.

I'll admit I'm annoyed sometimes that we barely had villeins last more than one film. The three I can think of off the top of my head are Blofeld, Jaws and Mr. White.

For sure Goldeneye was seen as a reboot, as it tried to connect with a more modern audience and also was competing against new action films like Die Hard. But they still never connected them. They only ever did it with slight tidbits, like when Judi Dench came in as M and Bond tells her where her "predecessor" kept his cognac and she then bites his head off. But they were still just very loose connections.

I don't think they would need to reboot it every time a new actor comes along to play Bond, just make sure it's all connected. It doesn't matter if they don't look the same lol. But if they do reboot it every time, at least make that series of films with that actor all be connected. Then'll it'll be like watching a trilogy or whatever.
