Vince McMahon made the call to go with Bryan at Wrestlemania under the belief it would bring Punk back to TV. Vince had heard Punk out and took putting Bryan into the main event as a way of apologizing to Punk. I believe that, now, is the singular/sole/only reason McMahon put Bryan into the main event of Wrestlemania.

He put Daniel in the main event because it was the first WM and PPV on the network and didn't want people shitting on the main event on his network's first ppv. If The network wasn't released before WM I believe Orton vs Batista would have happen.
