I've never played these games but I hate them for the sole purpose that 99.99% of the new Smash roster is full of these characters.

According to my friends that have it, Conquest is WAY harder, and was made for old-school fans of the series, while Birthright is for the people who were brought into the series by Awakening, and is much more forgiving about stuff like level grinding.
