As noted, WWE has dropped the Elimination Chamber PPV as its annual February event, and has replaced it for the first time this year with WWE Fast Lane.

Stephanie McMahon and Booker T recently appeared on The Wrestling Compadres Podcast, and Stephanie spoke out about why WWE decided to drop Elimination Chamber from its PPV line-up.

Stephanie said the main reason for dropping the PPV had to do with logistics. She said hanging the Chamber structure has become quite a chore, as it weighs nearly 10 tons and most arenas nowadays have large scoreboards hanging above the middle of the arena making it quite difficult to hang the structure.

Stephanie added WWE will still “deliver” with its debut Fast Lane PPV.

I rather they have this cage type structures happen randomly throughout each year anyway, than at set points. It kinda' kills its importance imo.

Now do the same for Heck in a Cell

Exactly. When you HAVE to have an Elimination Chamber match, or a Hell in a Cell match at the next PPV, then you're basically going "eh, fuck it, this feud kind of suits that, let's put them in there."

When you open yourself up to be able to have an Elimination Chamber or Hell in a Cell match at ANY PPV, then you can say "oh, you know what would suit this feud? One of those matches," and it fits so much better.

Just imagine a top rivalry is coming to a climax and then Steph announces (to the faces...errr...face), in her deep evil tone "HELLL IN A CELLLLLLLL!".

Those kind of promos alone sold it for me.
