Inspired by this video where random musicians/celebrities pick one or other.
I don't think I can pick. I think the beauty of The Beatles is that Lennon counterbalanced McCartney's tendency to write nursery rhyme/soppy songs, and McCartney counterbalanced Lennon's natural cynicism.

I wrote a paper on this for my freshman English class this semester. I personally am a McCartney guy but love them both.
