They asked him what name he’s gonna fight under. Punk said he’s gonna fight as Phil “CM Punk” Brooks. He’s keeping the name around because at this point its like a brand.

Carton asks about other fighters being mad or bitter. Punk says he understands how they feel and they’re probably a little bit justified, but if he based his thoughts on what other people said on twitter, he wouldn’t be here right now. He says he didn’t want to be the guy who wakes up every morning and asking ‘what if?’

Boomer said Punk joining would bring in more eyeballs to the UFC. They said Punk is going to be a middleweight like Chris Weidman.

They asked if his family is okay with this. Punk pointed out AJ Lee in the booth. Punk said he was terrified to tell his wife about UFC. He said the nerves and fears and jitters of getting into the octagon is nothing compared to having to tell her about it.

They asked if he reached out to UFC or did they reach to him. Punk says he’s not sure, but that he always had a good relationship with them and every time he’d see them they’d always bring up whether he wanted to do this.

Boomer and Carton asked about the fighters out there that want to get in the octagon and try to kill him. Punk said he’s been in the ring with guys who’ve wanted to kill him. He says he’s been getting punched in the face a lot longer than people think.

Carton asks if he worried about getting punched in the face. or the first time he gets clocked. Punk says no because he’s been drilled before. Carton mentioned Brock Lesnar not liking getting punched in the face, but Punk joked, opposed to all the people that love getting punched in the face?

Carton asked what fans think. Punk says people will miss him for leaving WWE, but people will support him.

Carton asks who is his favorite guy in the UFC. Punk said he was mystified with Royce Gracie. He discovered Pride and Dan Henderson, and loved his grittiness.

Punk said the earliest he’d be in the octagon is the fall.

Punk said he’s training right now in Chicago. They joked about him moving to New York to train here. Punk mentioned that his wife is from Jersey. Carton jokes that they should move to Jersey. Punk responded, “No, we’re not.”

Punk says he’s done with wrestling. They asked if he misses it. “No not at all,” Punk said. He said he wrestled since he was 15 and was on the road for ten years, so he’s had his fill.

They asked what WWE thought about him leaving and if they were pissed. Punk said no and they just let him go. Punk said there will always be someone to fill a spot.

They asked about Brock Lesnar. Punk said they never talk about business, just stuff like family and the kids

They asked him about what UFC fighter Matt Brown said about. Boomer read his quote about Punk thinking he’s dumb enough to come fight and basically says he’ll fight him. Punk said this is what he expect and he doesn’t fault him for thinking that, and he’s a fan of Matt Brown.

They joked about Carton’s canceled MMA show on Spike, and make fun of each other in typical morning radio way. They also spoke about hockey and the Chicago Blackhawks for a bit, and joked about the popularity of hockey.

They asked how many fights he signed for. Punk says its open ended. Punk said he understands that he can get cut at anytime. He also understands that people are mad and upset but he added let’s see what happens.

They have not announced an opponent yet. Punk said his plan is to do media hype now, then immediately go into hiding and train.

They asked if he can physically handle a five-minute round. Punk says yes, then they joked about athleticism and jump roping.

They asked him what he benches, which they ask all of their guests. Punk said he’s never really benched before. He said the most he’s ever benched was 250. Carton jokes about how he can leg press 1,000 pounds. Punk said his wife can out squat him and that she has great legs.

They asked if he met his wife on the “wrestling circuit”. They joked about why called it a wrestling circuit like its the 1930s

Carton tells Punk that he’s crazy. Punk says he has to be a little bit crazy to have to want to do this.

They wish him luck and said they admire him for what he’s doing, and say he’s good for the sport and puts more eyeballs on it.

They asked him what his weakest skill is. Punk said boxing.

Over/under on how many fights he'll do before he gets the wrestling itch again.

I don't know if he'll ever get the wrestling itch again... but I would say his fighting career isn't going to last TOO long.

2.5 would be the over/under I would think. I don't know whether I'd say 2 or 3.

If we've learned anything from wrestling, it's to take what people say about not coming back with a grain of salt. The only way they wouldnt is if they couldnt walk any longer or had passed away.

Wrestling itch, Idk when he'll get it again but he will have one final match in WWE. Most likely with Triple H.

His MMA career I only see him in two fights. His first fight will be sloppy as hell, be awkward and he'll win by points. His 2nd fight that's when he will get his ass kicked. He will then retire from MMA and just focus on his comic book career.

I just think Punk is a stubborn idiot and would rather pass up millions of dollars and keep his "pride."

Little 5 foot nothing, 95 pound AJ can squat more than him? Dammit Punk, you soft.
