It looks like Ubisoft has no plans of slowing down with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, despite the negativity surrounding the recent launch of Assassin’s Creed Unity. Kotaku has all the details available for the next planned installment of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Victory, which will be set in 19th century London, England. Early images of the title are available at the above link.
Ubisoft Quebec is overseeing development for Victory instead of Ubisoft’s Montreal office. The game is scheduled for a Fall 2015 release for the PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC. In addition, Ubisoft reportedly plans on releasing only one Assassin’s Creed game in 2015 with Victory.
A seven-minute “target gameplay footage” video was leaked to Kotaku. The video says it was produced entirely in Anvil, the Assassin’s Creed game engine. So it was not a pre-rendered video. The video was reportedly very “slick” and could pass for a possible E3 presentation, but it may not represent how the final gameplay will actually look.
Ubisoft later released an official statement on the leaking of the video:
It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players. |

Y U NO FEUDAL JAPAN - Developers say there's been too many games based around Ninjas
- Trying to be historically accurate (as possible) would be difficult
- Feudal Japan was vast, with fuck all there between cities
- Would you go Samurai or Ninja?
- Code of Samurai and shit
- In my opinion I really don't feel Feudal Japan would fit. That said, I wouldn't think Victorian London would either...
- They keep going forward in time so they can reference past Assassin's that you played as.

| Developers say there's been too many games based around Ninjas - I never got that. Ninja Gaiden stopped being relevant years ago. What else is there?
Trying to be historically accurate (as possible) would be difficult - How would it be more difficult than any other era in history?
Feudal Japan was vast, with fuck all there between cities - So was the middle east in AC1. They made it work.
Would you go Samurai or Ninja? - Ninja, obviously. Samurai are basically knights. They'd fit perfectly as templars.
In my opinion I really don't feel Feudal Japan would fit. That said, I wouldn't think Victorian London would either... - A lot of people didn't think Pirates would work.
They keep going forward in time so they can reference past Assassin's that you played as. - Feudal Japan technically lasted until like the 1800s. Haven't you seen The Last Samurai? |

- How would it be more difficult than any other era in history? A lot happened in short periods of time. Feudal Japan has few records of significant events that happened close together. Though they could take liberty. - I Herd U Liek TJs wrote:

- So was the middle east in AC1. They made it work. AC1 was based around three cities, that won't cut it in the modern generation unfortunately. - I Herd U Liek TJs wrote:

- Ninja, obviously. Samurai are basically knights. They'd fit perfectly as templars. Samurai are based upon a code of honour with unwavering loyalty and only in ceremonial duels were they heavily armoured. Ninjas were traditionally mercenaries with no loyalties except to coin and power. Different Ninja clans were also known to sabotage each others works. So I think that's an issue making it work. - I Herd U Liek TJs wrote:

- A lot of people didn't think Pirates would work. Yeah fair one, but that was based more around being a pirate than being an assassin, I suppose it could go that route here too. - I Herd U Liek TJs wrote:

| Doesn't Unity have ONE city? Maybe just have one of the ninja clans be the Japan branch of the Assassin Brotherhood in disguise? TLS is pretty good, tbh. It was just randomly on TV one time last summer and I decided to watch it, I enjoyed it a lot. The point about the 1800s is valid, that wouldn't really be as good as having it earlier, but eventually they're gonna run out of time periods to go forward, so they'll have to go backwards at some point. |

| Unity has one city, but late 18th century Paris was a highly developed city. Feudal Japan era Tokyo (or whatever the capital city was then) prolly won't be that vast. I'd still play it just to progress the story though. |
