Microsoft is allegedly working on a wearable accessory for the Xbox One.

The mystery device will sync with the gaming console's health and fitness apps, according to a source at Xbox One supplier Exertis.

"The wearable market is always growing and we can expect to see Microsoft rolling out a spate of devices next year in this space," Exertis executive Joe Officer told PCR.

"These will be linked to the Xbox One which has loads of health and fitness apps already in it - add that to real time heart rate monitors, health bands, scales and video sensors and users will have day in, day out, real time monitoring of themselves."

Microsoft made strides into the wearable tech sector last month when it launched the Microsoft Band, a fitness tracker supported by the firm's new Health platform.

The computing giant is yet to confirm plans to launch a gaming-focused wearable.
