Following its record-breaking debut on Xbox 360 and PS3 last year, GTA 5 was released on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this month to become the UK's best-selling game ever.

According to Chart Track, here's a rundown of the other UK all-time best-sellers, a list dominated by only four publishers.

While the firm doesn't disclose specific sales figures, GTA 5 sold almost four million copies in the UK before being released on PS4 and Xbox One - giving you an idea of what it takes to top the list. The game already held the record for highest-grossing game in a week and for the amount of revenue earned, and had sold 34 million copies worldwide by August.

Note that the listing doesn't include digital sales, which are currently not being factored in UK sales charts, so consider this a retail-only listing.

10. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012)

Released on: Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U
Publisher: Activision Blizzard
What we said: "It's a pleasure to see a franchise that's often derided for being linear and stuck in its ways attempt to evolve and change, suggesting that Call of Duty's lofty place at the top isn't being taken for granted."

9. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004)

Released on: PS2, Xbox, PC
Publisher: Take-Two Interactive
What critics said: "In short, it's a terrific unending masterpiece of a game - and one that will never fall victim to an over-exaggeration of its lofty status. It's the defining piece of software for Sony's successful sophomore system, and it's almost impossible to imagine a PlayStation 2 library without it."

8. FIFA 13 (2012)

Released on: PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii, Wii U, PC, DS, 3DS, PSP, Vita
Publisher: EA
What we said: "Like a Manchester United team chasing its 20th league title or Gareth Bale charging at a frightened right back, EA Canada is showing no signs of slowing down in its pursuit of the perfect football sim."

7. FIFA 14 (2013)

Released on: PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii, PC, DS, Vita
Publisher: EA
What we said: "FIFA 14's next-gen tweaks and improvements are largely aesthetic, but then this is a title that, barring some balancing issues, was always as close to the beautiful game as virtually possible."

6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011)

Released on: Xbox 360, PS3, PC
Publisher: Activision Blizzard
What we said: "Modern Warfare 3's campaign, while complacent in parts, builds upon the dizzy heights of spectacle set by previous entries and often exceeds them, while Spec Ops once again successfully delivers its own brand of tactical co-operative gameplay."

5. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (2006)

Released on: Nintendo DS
Publisher: Nintendo
What we said: "But like a gym membership, it's completely up to the player whether a group of mind exercises is considered 'fun'. At the very least, Nintendo's wrapped everything into a fulfilling package to make these tasks as enjoyable and replayable as possible, and personally I had a blast spending a half hour a day for two weeks on this package, and don't see any reason to stop any time soon."

4. Mario Kart Wii (2008)

Mario Kart Wii voted best Mario Kart game in Digital Spy poll

Released on: Nintendo Wii
Publisher: Nintendo
What critics said: "It isn't the best Mario Kart in the series, but it's a must-play experience on Wii, and standard-setting offering as far as online, channel support, and connectivity are concerned."

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)

Released on: Xbox 360, PS3, PC
Publisher: Activision Blizzard
What we said: "The most reassuring part is that, while major blockbuster releases in other media often fail to live up to the hype, Modern Warfare 2 soundly meets expectations, and deserves every success."

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)

Released on: Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS
Publisher: Activision Blizzard
What we said: "Although the campaign lacks the lasting impact of previous outings and the multiplayer plays it safe, there's nothing in Black Ops that makes you feel left wanting."

1. Grand Theft Auto 5 (2013)

GTA 5 breaks six Guinness World Records in video games entertainment

Released on: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher: Take-Two Interactive
What we said: "If you've never visited Los Santos or Blaine County, picking up GTA 5 on new consoles is a no-brainer. This is the definitive version of one of the finest games of the last few years, and one that better lives up to Rockstar's lofty ambitions."
