WWE is currently advertising Roman Reigns for live events in late December, including an ad for the Smackdown taping in Norfolk, Virginia on December 30th.

Reigns is scheduled to face current United States champion Rusev, so this could be Reigns’ first feud when he returns.

Speaking of Reigns’ return, he is also advertised for the WWE live event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on December 20th. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been added to the match featuring Reigns versus Kane, with Flair acting as special guest referee.

I understand what WWE is trying to do here. They want Reigns to look strong as possible going into WM to face Brock. So a win over the undefeated Rusev would make him look strong. But here's the thing with this tho. No matter what, unless something bad happens, Roman Reigns is facing Brock Lesnar at WM. Roman Reigns will be the Next WWE World Heavyweight Champion and be the new face of the WWE. We can debate all we want about if Reigns is right for that spot or not, debate Dean should that guy or Seth or Bryan. At the end of the day, Vince and the titan tower wants Reigns as their next guy, Rather you like it or not.

But why waste Rusev's streak on Reigns tho? IMO it shouldn't be Reigns to end the undefeated streak, it is clear that I think Ryback should be the one and it should happen at WrestleMania. It doesn't matter if people like Dead or Broski want to admit it or not, Ryback is red hot right now. Ryback is getting great reactions from the crowds, he has been embrace by the fans. People want to see Ryback, people want to see Ryback as a big fucking deal. Ryback has appeal to him so with that being said make him something, do something with this guy. Fix the mistakes of the past with Ryback.

WWE could make Ryback into a monster star at the same time making Roman Reigns into a monster star. And Look what WWE could have, Two monster stars instead of one. Ryback vs Roman Reigns could be a future Summerslam main event or Wresltemania Match. The next 5 years the people carry WWE on their backs should be Roman Reigns, Ryback, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt. Plus you got Cena who still has a few years left. you could make that 5 into 6 if Bryan is healthy enough. Plus you got a great supporting cast you can follow with them. Harper, Cesaro, Ziggler, Sandow, and shit ton of people in NXT. But those 5 I named off first, could be and should be the guys carrying WWE into the future.

Reigns ending the streak imo would be overkill for him. He is already going to be the guy so why waste the streak on him. Why throw everything into the Reigns basket, when you could throw things into both the Reigns and the Ryback basket. Why have one star, when you can have two?

Now I can already see Broski typing about how Ryback has had his chance and it's Rusev's time and blah blah blah. Rusev has a shelf life with his current gimmick that isn't that long. Rusev doesn't have much ground to stand on. Take the streak away, take Lana away, what does Rusev have? Most of the heat goes to Lana, the streak, and Putin. Rusev and Lana are the marc mero and Sable of today. Sable/Lana is the one people want to see and will be the one to become the star out of the two, while Mero/Rusev will be lost in the shuffle.

It's kinda easy to know that Reigns vs Rusev will be a singles match on smackdown ending by DQ as Kane will interfere. Since Rusev is helping Authority and the Authority said they'll have his back.

Ryback future top guy? Yeah why not. But wasting Rusev's streak on him? Fuck no.

Rusev' streak needs to go against someone who will Get something from it. Ryback won't gain anything from it, it'll be like oh Ryback beat the streak, following a week later no one will care.

Still a waste. All I can say. Ryback can get to the main event without beating Rusev. Rusev needs the streak a bit longer IMO. At least till Summerslam. Least that way he's known as a monster and has brought some prestige to the US Title. Ryback winning it off him at WM is too early considering Ryback will drop it 3 months later.

that is a little too long, the appeal of the streak might not be value by then. WrestleMania imo is the best spot, Ryback is the best person to do it. And long as they follow up on it and continue to book both strong you can do something with both Ryback and Rusev. Hell after the feud with Ryback, I have Rusev go after Reigns.

But when you think of it, the streak will have more meaning come Summerslam. Anyways Cena is probably going to face Rusev at Mania unless Hogan is at full health.

Anyways you said if he held the title until Summerslam the title would mean more. Just because a reign is long, doesn't make the title mean anything. CM Punk was WWE champion for over 400 days, the title meant jackshit. Long reign, short reign, it's about how the champion is booked and booked right. Holding the title from now until WrestleMania is long enough for Rusev. Until summerslam it would just be drawn out and besides who would Rusev have to defend the title against? Cena isn't lowering his status to the US title, neither is Orton. The perfect time is WrestleMania, the perfect person is Ryback.

You said Ryback would only have the title for short reign? No I would book Ryback as a long reigning champion. Hell when I have Ryback go after the WWE championship, I'd still have him be US champion. Put both titles on the line and have Ryback win the WWE title and force to drop the US title. It's very warrior like, but hell there really isn't nothing that hasn't been done before.

Tink about it give Roman a few months wit the belt and have Rollins Cash in, sets up that feud going into and past Summerslam. Plus having Reigns beat Rusev would't be a bad thing for him. He can still lose and look strong.
