James Carlisle drops the microphone in his hand as "Stay Here" booms out and Akira Kobayashi makes his way down the ramp wearing the Cruiser-X Division championship around his waist, cracking his knuckles as he goes. The crowd's reaction to Akira is fairly positive, mostly owing to their current hatred for The New Knockout King. Although the match was two weeks ago, the damage done to Akira's nose by Vladimir Strife can clearly be seen in the form of a series of bandages and plasters going across his face. Akira unbuckles his belt and tosses it to a ringside official without breaking his stride or even looking up from the ring, his gaze homed in on his opponent. Neither man wastes any time fooling about, and as soon as Akira slides into the ring Carlisle meets him with a flurry of forearm strikes, prompting Ryu Sanu to call for the bell.

Cedar: And we're off! Remember folks, this one's a tables match - you can only win b-

Miles: They know the rules, Ted!

Akira fires back with forearms of his own, and soon the two wrestlers are engaged in a smashmouth game of "who can hit the other in the jaw harder". With more weight behind his blows and a slight headstart, Carlisle gets the advantage and pushes Akira back first into the turnbuckle, at which point he beats The Black Heart Warrior down into a seated position with alternating left and right elbow strikes. With Akira sat down against the bottom turnbuckle Carlisle charges across the ring to the opposite corner and then sprints back, launching himself into he air to try and squash Akira with a vicious cannonball senton. Just before impact Akira manages to pull himself up and dive out of the corner, leaving Carlisle to flip over and collide back first with the turnbuckle. Akira scurries up to his feet and turns as Carlisle tries to regain his composure and get up, and it's only a quick duck and roll that allows The Best Seller to avoid a soccer kick aimed at his head. The two men get upright again, James leaned in the corner while Akira backs up to the centre of the ring and beckons for his opponent to come out and fight. The fans packed into the Sleep Train Arena are firmly behind Akira, although neither man appears to be too concerned with the crowd's reaction. Carlisle doesn't come out to meet Akira, instead choosing to take his time leaning in the corner and grinning at his opponent. The stalling causes the impatient Akira to run in, throwing up a high boot towards Carlisle's head. Having scouted Akira enough to know what's coming, Carlisle easily sidesteps the kick and grabs Akira around the waist from behind in an attempt at a German suplex. He manages to hoist Akira maybe a foot off the ground, but a hard elbow swung backwards clips Carlisle in the side of the head and forces him to release his grasp. Akira pivots around the drops low, hitting Carlisle on the right kneecap with a dropkick that sends him stumbling backwards. Akira pulls himself up to his feet, charges in, and throws an inside leg kick to the same leg. The sound of kickpad hitting bone is a dull yet loud one, and it quickly gets repeated as Akira grabs Carlisle by the hair with both hands and shoots in more leg kicks whilst forcing him backwards into the turnbuckle across from where Akira had just been seated. After at least a dozen kicks Carlisle's knee buckles, dropping him down to the mat as Akira adds stomps to his barrage of strikes aimed at James's knee. With Carlisle sat in the corner Akira runs across the ring to the opposite corner and then runs back. He leaps up into the air with both feet together in an attempt at taking Carlisle's head off with a dropkick. As with Carlisle's cannonball senton, though, the intended target gets out of harms way. Carlisle rolls to the outside of the ring as Akira lands unceremoniously down onto the canvas.

With Akira down, Carlisle reaches in under the bottom rope and grabs his ankle with both hands. With one big heave he yanks Akira out of the ring and down onto the floor where he lands on his feet. Again the two engage in an exchange of forearms, which this time removes some of the bandages from around Akira's nose, although there is no bloodshed. Carlisle starts to gain the upper hand once again until Akira throws a kick to the inside of his knee, momentarily causing Carlisle to wince in pain and leave himself open to a big European uppercut. As his jaw rattles Carlisle steps backwards and tries to compose himself, while Akira wraps arm arm up around his neck, reaches down and grabs his wrist, looking for his trademark wrist-clutch exploder suplex! Akira growls as he tries to hoist Carlisle up, but The Best Seller fights his way out with a rising knee up into Akira's ribs. Even with Akira's grip broken Carlisle carries on throwing knees, eventually doubling Akira over and leaving him open to a snap DDT that drives his head down into the floor! The crowd explodes in boos as Carlisle sits next to Akira's sprawled out body, shrugging and laughing as he looks down at Akira. Carlisle stands up and walks down the aisle, seemingly to grab a table that has been left outside the ring. He ignores the woodwork, however, and instead chooses to grab a chair from the time keepers area. Carlisle slams the chair into the ground as he approaches Akira, who is grasping the apron to pull himself up. Carlisle raises the chair up high with the intent of bringing it down directly onto Akira's head, but just before he can swing down Akira throws himself at his opponent with a big European uppercut. The shot is enough to knock Carlisle off his balance and take the chair out of his hands, at which point Akira drills his knee with a low spinning kick. Carlisle collapses down against the apron, showing that Akira's early barrage of offence aimed at the knee is already taking its toll. Carlisle rolls into the ring, leaving Akira to first slide the chair onto the ring apron and then head off to grab a table. He bypasses a pair of tables already set-up outside to grab one which is folded up and slide it into the ring under the bottom rope before following it in. Carlisle is already on his feet when Akira enters, and he wastes no time in gaining the advantage over The Pacific Rim Nightmare by charging in and slamming into the side of his head with a discus elbow smash!

Cedar: He'll feel that in the morning!

Akira staggers to the ropes, grabbing a hold of a handful to keep up on his feet. Clutching his skull Akira backs into the corner, where Carlisle follows up the elbow smash by running in and landing a charging forearm smash into Akira's jaw while allowing his body to crush him into the turnbuckle like a freight train. Still not content to let Akira simply drop to the mat, Carlisle reaches down and hooks up one of Akira's legs. He pulls the leg up, wraps an arm around Akira's body, and then falls back while tossing him overhead with a capture suplex which plants Akira right on the back of his neck! Akira crumples over, clutching his head as he looks up at the ceiling lights and tries to remember what timezone he's in. Carlisle, on the other hand, walks over to the table and grabs it, placing it in the corner of the ring leaning against the turnbuckle. After checking that it's in place Carlisle walks back over to Akira and grabs him around the jaw, yanking him up to his knees. Carlisle drives a knee into Akira's jaw twice and then carries on lifting him up, forcing him into position for Carlisle to hoist him up for a powerbomb. Carlisle wraps his arms around Akira's waist and then pulls him up into the air with relative ease before turning to face the table in the corner. Carlisle charges at the corner, but Akira manages to regain his senses, put both hands on the top of Carlisle's head and leapfrog over and down onto the mat. Carlisle stops about four feet from the table and turns around directly into a roudhouse kick directly to the side of his jaw. The sight of Akira's boot slapping into Carlisle's jaw causes a wave of cheers to echo throughout the arena, and the cheers only get louder as Akira unleashes a combo of slaps and palm strikes to his opponent, finished off with a low kick that cracks off of the inside of Carlisle's knee and causes him to collapse down just in front of the table set-up in the corner. Akira grabs Carlisle and pulls him away, putting himself between the table and The New Knockout King. Once again Akira hooks an arm around Carlisle's shoulder and another through his legs in an attempt at a wrist-clutch exploder suplex, this time through the table in a move that would win him the match and advance him to the next stage of the KOX tournament. Again though Carlisle fights his way out, digging his boots down into the mat as he stands his ground, rips his arm free and drives a knee into Akira's ribs. Although able to defend against the suplex, Carlisle doesn't gain control, and as he tries to grab a hold of Akira receives a headbutt to the forehead which knocks him backwards off of his feet.

Cedar: That was like two coconuts banging together!

Miles: Except coconuts ain't hollow!

As Carlisle starts to get up Akira continues his assault on his opponents rights knee with a jumping double stomp. Carlisle lets out a loud yell as his knee is crushed between the mat and the sole of Akira's boots, an attack that forces The New Knockout King to crawl his way over to the turnbuckle opposite the table and try to pull himself up. It takes Akira a second or so to recover and get himself balanced after landing the stomp, by which time Carlisle is already back on his feet, albeit favouring the right leg slightly. Showing he still has fight left in him, Carlisle hops over to Akira and blasts him with a lariat from seemingly out of nowhere, putting The Black Heart Warrior down onto the mat to the disdain of the crowd. Akira clutches his throat as Carlisle makes his way over to the chair, which is still laid on the ring apron where Akira left it earlier. He grabs it in both hands as Akira starts to stand up and waits, eyeing up his target slowly. Still holding his neck where Carlisle's lariat barrelled into it, Akira turns around directly into a chairshot to the top of his head. The crowd lets out an "oooo" in unison as Akira drops to his knees, holding his forehead as Carlisle smirks at him and winds up for another chair shot. Despite the previous chair shot, Akira has his wits about him enough to roll onto his back and kick out his right leg, booting Carlisle's right knee with as much force as he can muster. Carlisle instantly drops the chair and steps back as Akira rolls forward again onto all fours, leaps forward like a wild animal, and clutches Carlisle's right leg in both hands. Akira stands up while clutching Carlisle's right leg and then pushes his own right foot forward, allowing him to trip Carlisle backwards off his feet down onto the canvas while keeping a hold of the leg. With Carlisle down on the mat Akira steps over the leg he's holding while turning around, clutches it between his own legs, then keeps turning before dropping to the mat, applying a figure four leg lock! Carlisle screams out in pain as his leg is twisted and contorted at a horrific angle, but with the chair now out of reach there is little he can do but try to crawl towards the ropes. Carlisle starts trying to drag himself across the mat, prompting Akira to sit up and yell out as he tries to apply more pressure.

Cedar: If this wasn't a tables match Akira Kobayashi might have had a chance to win right here!

Akira flops back and slams his hands down into the mat, pushing Carlisle's leg even further around and sending more pain shooting up through the right knee joint. Carlisle screams out in pain so loudly that Akira's roars can barely match it as The Black Heart Warrior shuffles backwards to keep Carlisle away from the ropes. Once again Akira sits up to try and create more leverage before slamming himself back down, and at this point James Carlisle looks to be at breaking point. Sweat drips down his face as he grits his teeth and starts screaming out, to the joy of the crowd who start a "break his leg" chant. Seeing how close he is to causing some serious damage Akira sits up for a third time. This time James Carlisle is ready for it though, and before Akira can slam back down into the mat Carlisle pulls himself up and throws a closed fist punch at Akira. Carlisle's fist connects flush with Akira's nose, splitting it open in the same spot where Vladimir Strife caused some serious damage two weeks ago. Blood spurts out of Akira's nose and down his chest as Carlisle manages to yank his leg free, still howling out in pain. Akira clutches his nose as it sprays out crimson gore like a a lawn sprinkler, giving Carlisle time to climb up to his feet with the assistance of the ring ropes. Carlisle slaps his knee and shakes it out, trying to regain some usage of it before Akira can recover. Akira takes a few seconds to stand up, now looking like an extra from a zombie movie thanks to Carlisle's desperate punch.

Cedar: Now it's a King of Xtreme match!

Carlisle grabs the chair up from the mat and limps towards Akira, winding it up for a big hit. Akira turns to face Carlisle and catches a home run style swing directly into his face, further disfiguring a nose that has no doubt already suffered its fair share of breaks over the years. Akira drops to the canvas again in a bloody heap, and Carlisle doesn't show any mercy as he throws the chair down into Akira's ribs. With great difficulty Carlisle makes his way over to the table in the corner and grabs it, pulling it over to Akira. With the table still folded up Carlisle puts it on its end and then lets it fall over onto Akira, letting it slam into his face with a loud, dull thud. Carlisle leans down and again lifts the table before letting it drop down onto Akira, who this time manages to get his forearm in the way so as to protect his face. Carlisle tosses the table aside and grabs Akira, yanking him up to his feet. Carlisle goes to work on Akira's face again, throwing a series of elbows at his nose before turning his back to Akira and grabbing him around the head with both arms. Not wanting to take too many steps on his hurt leg, Carlisle simply hops into the air before pulling Akira down with a vicious ace crusher, also known as Writer's Block! The maneuver Carlisle used to win his first round match proves to be just as effective this week, as Akira's head slams down into the canvas in a shower of blood. The Black Heart Warrior rolls over onto his back as his forehead bounces off of the canvas, leaving him spread eagle staring up at the lights as the crowd boos Carlisle. Seemingly finally content that Akira is down and going to stay put Carlisle crawls over to the table and flips it over while popping out one of the legs. He climbs up to his feet while using the table for support and then lifts the other end of the table up and props the legs out, finally setting it up. Carlisle takes his time, leaning against the table as he waits for Akira to try and climb up to his feet. Blood pumps down his face as Akira presses his hands down, forcing himself to get up, ignorant to the fact The New Knockout King has set-up a table and is planning his demise.

Cedar: It could all be over here!

Once Akira gets to one knee Carlisle closes in and throws another closed fist punch, nailing him in the eye and knocking him back onto his ass. Carlisle grabs a handful of Akira's blood soaked hair and yanks him up to his feet, although between Akira being barely conscious and Carlisle's knee being in bad shape it takes a lot of effort and time. Carlisle goes behind Akira and pushes him up towards the table before ducking down, putting his head beneath Akira's arm. He hoists him up, looking to drive Akira through the table with a blue thunder bomb, but his knee buckles before he can spin him around. The two collapse down onto the canvas, with Akira landing in a senton of sorts on Carlisle. The two lie in a heap, with Akira's blood trickling down onto Carlisle's shirt from above as they both try to recover enough to get up. Akira grabs the table and pulls himself up, closely followed by Carlisle. The two lean over the table, resting one arm on it while using the other to throw open handed slaps into their opponents face. Carlisle's cheek starts to go dark red and blood sprays off of Akira's face and splatters onto the table. Akira manages to gain the upperhand by throwing a headbutt, sending Carlisle first staggering away and then rolling out to the apron when his knee gives way. Carlisle starts to roll outside but Akira stops him by reaching over the top rope and grabbing him around his chin. Carlisle desperately kicks out, kicking a table which is set-up just in front of him. Akira pulls Carlisle up to his feet and wraps an arm around his throat, trying to choke him out with a sleeper hold. Carlisle throws a hand up, grabbing Akira's arm and preventing the hold being locked in. Using his other arm Carlisle throws an elbow back, hitting Akira in the side of the head to finally stop the hold being locked in. Carlisle then turns to face Akira, his back now to the table set-up outside the ring. Akira clutches his eye as Carlisle grabs a hold of him around the head and pulls him back in, trying to hook him up for a vertical suplex over the top rope and to the outside! Carlisle tries to pull Akira up, but again his knee betrays him and prevents him from hoisting his opponent up and through the table. Akira holds on, and when Carlisle's knee buckles slightly Akira takes the opportunity to pull Carlisle up into position for the brainbuster. Akira takes a couple of steps backwards towards the table, stops for a few seconds to ensure he's in the right position, and then falls back. Carlisle's head and neck crashes down through the hard wood, snapping the table in half as his body folds up on impact. Ryu Sanu calls for the bell as the two men lie in a bloody heap amongst the wreckage of the broken table.
