A tech site is reporting that Microsoft is looking to the future of streaming games, and is reportedly testing technology that allows games to be streamed to PC Internet browsers.
According to technology site Neowin, "Microsoft is testing out playing games in your browser and not just any games. We're talking Xbox games -- and not just last-generation titles either. In fact, even Xbox One titles are currently said to be in the works too. And don't think this is some watered-down experience; one source told us that he thought the experience was right around 60 [frames per second], while another stated that this is going to be the company's next killer gaming feature."
While this is not confirmed, it is in line with with a recent Microsoft Research report regarding project "Outatime," formerly codenamed "DeLorean," that claims to have made significant progress in overcoming lag in cloud-based streaming gameplay. It's unclear whether or not the streaming would work like Sony's Vita streaming or be from the cloud.
