Two decades after Al Bundy's last exhaustive sigh of disappointment, Sony Pictures Television is looking to resuscitate Married with Children, which ran for 11 seasons and made household names out of Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino.

THR is reporting that a spinoff series is currently in the works which would focus on Faustino's Bud Bundy character. As of right now, it's not known whether or not any other original cast members (who have remained busy on other TV and movie projects) will return for appearances on the series, but one would have to assume that it's a wish/possibility. And that those potential guest spots would be a big factor in the appeal of the show.

Details regarding who might be writing and directing the rebooted series are currently unknown. A few days ago, the cast reunited for a photo op during Katey Sagal's Walk of Fame star ceremony.

Married with Children is the latest (and raunchiest) in the line of current sitcom revivals, following Disney's Girl Meets World and the recent movement to bring back Full House.
