MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey Empty
PostSubject: Re: MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey   MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey EmptyFri Aug 22, 2014 12:54 pm

Three tolls of the bell, two returning superstars, one eventual winner. On one side of the ring we have “The Fallen One” Dante Cross, who immediately sprints across the ring at his opponent, the somewhat re-debuting Mark Storey, jumping into the air and crashing into Mark with his body and a well-placed punch to the jaw. Mark stumbles back towards to corner, continuously ambushed by the man who’s 10 years younger than him. Mark is the living embodiment of the kind of person Dante hates, a man who has let fame go to his head, despite doing almost nothing in XWA history, which Dante shows through a flurry of punches and jabs all over Mark’s body. Soon Mark loses his patience and begins to fight back, pushing Dante away from him before swiftly placing his knee into Dante’s gut, causing him to double over for “The Natural”. Mark drives an elbow into the back of Dante’s neck, which sees Dante fall to one knee and grab his neck in agony. Mark runs to the ropes behind him, only to rebound back and meet Dante, who looks up at the most opportune time for Mark, unfortunately for Dante, to receive a clothesline as Mark dive’s to Dante’s kneeling level! Knocked onto his back, Mark quickly climbs on top of his foe and hooks the leg. One! T-NO! Dante is able to kick out, denying Mark a quick win, which “The Monarch of Wrestling” would’ve loved, considering he’s bound to have some ring rust, due to his absence from wrestling. Both men are quick to their feet, which sees them lock up in a collar and elbow tie up, which Dante manages to take advantage of, transitioning into a headlock. From there, Dante hits a high kick, uses his shin, catching Mark right in the face. Holding Mark in place, he’s able to do this 2 more times. On the fourth overall attempt, Mark smartly takes Dante’s other leg right from underneath him, using his momentum against him causing him to travel head over heels and land face first on the mat! Mark takes a step back, hitting the rope immediately and rebounds, booting Dante in the head! Exiled! The surprising pint kick from Mark send Dante flipping over onto his back and Mark dives on top of him for the win! But it doesn’t come, in fact, not even a one count is heard as Mark starts to get frustrated with the referee. The referee is soon to point out that Dante’s foot was resting on the bottom rope before Mark was even able to cover him. With his ring prowess clearly affected by ‘ring rust’ Mark sulkily pulls Dante from the rope and hooks the leg, a thing he should’ve done immediately. Even still, with the passing time, Mark is only award a one count before Dante manages to kick out.

Ted Cedar: “Not a great move for Mark, he might’ve had this match in the bag had he hooked the leg.”

Joey Miles: “I can’t remember, do I like this fucker again, or not? He is against fucking Dante..”

Annoyed, Mark punches the mat before he starts to crawl backwards, out of the ring. He stands on the lightly padded floor and pulls Dante forward, then hooks him in a headlock. Mark looks around, as the crowd start to cheer on one of his frequent moves, the suspended DDT. However, “The Fallen One” starts to wriggle free, forcing Mark to target his head once again, delivering another hard elbow. Mark then panics and grabs Dante’s head, pulling it back slightly before running full speed, pulling Dante with him, driving his head right into the steel turnbuckle pole! The fans close by wince in pain and turn away as Mark walks nonchalantly away from the situation, laughing slightly, whilst tapping his head, signalling his intelligence. The referee reaches a count of four, plenty of time for Mark to do more, but instead he re-enters the ring and towers over his fallen opponent. As Dante lays face-down, Mark pulls on his foot, pulling him towards the centre of the ring. He laughs as he drops Dante’s foot, as Dante is essentially a rag doll, flopping back down on the canvas. Mark slaps his chest with both of his hands before holding them out wide and shouting “I’M BACK, BABY!” The egotistical superstar lifts Dante’s foot once again, flipping him over onto his back, before bending over to grab Dante’s arm. As Mark bends, Dante springs to life, rolling Mark up with a pin! ONE! TWO! THR-NO! Mark is able to just break free in time, as he kneels, wide-eyed and staring at his opponent, who sits close to the ropes, which he helps to pull himself to his feet. Without warning, Mark dashes at his opponent and tackles him, falling through the top and middle ropes crashing to the floor below! Those close to the action jump out of their seats to watch as the two superstars writhe and roll around in pain at the bottom of the steel ramp.

Ted Cedar: “It seems as though Mark is desperate to win in his first match here, he is resilient, but that may have not been the best move for him.”

Joey Miles: “Fucking great, now we’ve got gay all over the floor, thanks Mark.”

The referee starts his ring out count as Mark stirs, he reaches a count of two as Mark uses the ring apron to pull himself up. He reaches his feet and spots Dante fumbling at the steel steps. Mark climbs up onto the ring apron and walks over to his opponent, his feet at Dante’s head, that he’s been targeting a lot. Dante looks up at Mark, who raises his foot only to stamp down on Dante’s head! But Dante’s head had vacated the scene, as Dante jerks away from the steps, causing Mark to stomp down hard on the steel! A jolt of pain is shot up through Mark’s foot and leg, causing him to grab it in pain, allowing Dante to take advantage of his position and hoist Mark desperately onto his shoulders! With Mark in the seated position on Dante’s shoulders, Dante starts to stumble, due to Mark being heavier, before launching him into the barricade with a release powerbomb! Mark hits the barricade hard, his arms flopping over it, causing him to hang from it whilst arching his back in pain. Meanwhile, Dante falls to one knee once again, cradling his head, surely breathing a sigh of relief that he avoided another assault on his temple. With Mark in a prime position, Dante enters the ring, only to exit it again, breaking the count, much to the referee’s dismay. Dante returns to Mark, and the punches start to rain down on Mark, who is seemingly unable to retaliate due to his arms hanging him from the barricade. He is soon removed from his position as Dante lifts “The Natural” up and sets him down on top of the barricade. He grabs Mark’s left arm and then with his own right arm, clobber’s Mark hard on the face. Mark falls backwards, but Dante, holding Mark’s left arm, keeps him from toppling into the front row. Repeating this offence twice more, Dante then leaves Mark sitting on the barricade as the referee reaches a count of four. “The Fallen One” then walks to the corner part of the barricade and climbs it. The front row fans start to get on their feet as Dante tries to balance himself. Then, in one swift motion, Dante dashes along the top of the barricade and leaps, wrapping his legs around Mark’s neck and performing a perfect hurricanrana! The signature move from Dante, named Walk of Fate, usually a rope-walk rana, breaks the referee’s concentration, from his count of six, to look over the ropes and check on the two men, seeing Mark lying flat on his back, and Dante on all fours, with one arm in the air!

Ted Cedar: “What a move! Albeit, somewhat risky, from Dante there!”

Joey Miles: “That motherfucker stole Storey’s whole mantra! He’s the innovator!”

Getting to his feet at eight, even though he is somewhat staggered, Dante lift’s Mark via his arm and pulls him towards the ring, he lifts the superstar, plopping him on the apron at nine and immediately jumps up into the ring himself, breaking the referee’s count just in the nick of time. Taking a slight breather, Dante waives his chances of pinning Mark, in return for some recuperation time. In hindsight, potentially too much time as Mark begins to move, which startles Dante, causing him to get to his feet much quicker than Mark is able to. He tries to stomp Mark, which has its effects but doesn’t stop “The Elite of Elites” from using the ropes to get to a vertical base. Once he reaches said vertical base, however, he is treated to a hard kick to the gut, doubling him over momentarily before he stands upright again, which sees the delivery of a second kick to the gut. After Dante yells something towards Mark, Mark pushes him back towards the middle of the ring and stands up once again. Like clockwork, Dante tries to kicks Mark again, this time with an enziguri but Mark ducks it! Mark stands up straight, chuckles and taps his head, signalling his intelligence, just like earlier in the match. In reality, Mark should’ve been watching his opponent intently as Dante spins around and connects on the side of Mark’s head with a huge enziguri! The Return to Sin Kick being one of Dante’s signature moves, a spinning feint enziguri, which seemingly knocked Mark cold as he falls backwards straight onto the canvas! Dante covers “The Monarch of Wrestling”, hooking the leg as he does so. ONE! TWO! NO! A kick out from Mark shows that there’s still some left in the tank for the British superstar. Unwilling to accept the decision, Dante attempts to pin Mark again, only for Mark to kick out just before two. Instead of instantly pinning once again, Dante drops an elbow on Mark, and pins immediately following the impact! ONE! TWO! NO! Mark is able to raise the shoulder once more, ending the pin attempt. With Mark still on the mat, Dante stands and turns to the nearest corner of the ring. He dashes towards it and leaps onto the middle rope, he then uses the middle rope to launch himself up onto the top rope, ala Christopher Daniels, as he looks to hit his DME, Deadliest Moonsault Evermore! Once he reaches the top rope, before he can launch himself off of it, Mark frantically gets up from the mat and pushes Dante from behind, causing Dante to lose his balance and fall off the turnbuckle. As he falls he grabs a hold of the ropes, which prevents him from falling to the floor below!

Ted Cedar: “A lucky escape for Dante, that could’ve been a nasty fall.”

Joey Miles: “Stupid fucker should’ve looked where he was going!”

Taking advantage of the situation, Mark approaches Dante as he hangs on for dear life, but Mark receives a punch to the jaw for his trouble as Dante swings back towards the ring! He then grabs a hold of the top rope, ensuring that he won’t fall. Unhappy and unamused, Mark returns and tries to grab Dante by his head, instead Dante ducks Mark and thrusts his shoulder in through the top and middle ropes, right into Mark’s gut, causing the Northern Irishman to back away, doubled over and grabbing his stomach. Dante then evaluates his surroundings before pulling back on the top rope and catapulting himself back into the ring towards his foe! All he achieves is NO REDEMPTION! Mark shoots Dante out of the air, causing him to fall straight to the mat after the huge trademark Elbow Smash! Dante lands face first and bounces up on impact. Mark grabs his foe as he bounces and places his hand between his legs. In one swift motion, he butterflies Dante’s arms, hooking them both and hauls him up into the air. The momentum from the previous move helps him, before he extends his legs and falls down into the mat, executing a perfect Tiger Driver ’98! His finisher, Super Paroxysm! Dante, landing on his head once again, goes limp and falls to his side, which sees Mark cover his body and hook the leg! ONE! TWO! THREE! Mark holds his arm up in victory winning his first match back in XWA! The systematic targeting of Dante’s head having clearly worked for him as XWA takes a quick commercial break.

(OOC: Good Luck Dante, quite a bit of ring rust here!)

MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey Empty
PostSubject: Re: MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey   MATCH 2.) Dante Cross vs. Mark Storey EmptySat Aug 23, 2014 12:40 pm

Two superstars return tonight to an XWA ring after each experiencing an extended period of absence from in ring action. The show has returned from a commercial break that followed a strange promo by Dante Cross that had many fans in the audience equally disturbed and confused. As for what the returning Son of Sin has in store for those tonight it is not entirely known but his words hinted at a somewhat changed man, though in truth, we may simply be seeing a more deranged man in his place.

Brennisteinn by Sigur Ros plays over the PA system and fans falter for a moment as the theme song is unfamiliar to them but when the titantron shows that of Dante Cross, the confusion quickly turns to a resonating chorus of Boos and jeers even before the superstar has actually made his appearance. When he does actually appear on the entrance stage, Dante Cross stands alone wearing dark red tights with a pair of white stripes running down the sides. The front of the tights feature a stylized version of his initials ‘DC’ surrounded by a runic pair of black angel wings thinly lined with red that stretch out from the crotch area outwards with the lower wing tips dipping just midways with the thighs of the Son of Sin. Black shin guards with deep red lining cover black boots. All quite a different attire than the superstar has previously donned in times past. Cross looks out at those in attendance, a single glancing view, before making his way down to the ring. His demeanor, usually brooding and dark, is less obvious on this day as he simply looks ready to get this over with if a guess could be made on his composure at the present time. He takes the steps into the ring and goes through the second rope, does a small circle of half the ring before plopping down in a corner and staring out at the entrance stage waiting for his opponent, something that hasn’t changed.

Dies Irae by Epica hits and the second competitor in this contest swaggers out onto the entrance stage to make himself known. Thick legged and clad in the traditional black trunks that carry his name on the rear, Mark Storey looks out at the crowd and outstretches his arms as goldern sparks rain down from the top of the stage onto the superstar. He soaks in the moment as he has closed his eyes until he slowly drops his left arm and brings his right closer, tightening his muscle and gives a ginger kiss to his bicep. Women in the audience can do naught but scream in ecstasy at the allure this man holds while others look on in disgust at the amount of vanity this superstar holds for himself. With that, Storey drops his right arm and swaggers down to the ring. As he draws near the ring he meets eyes with the Son of Sin whose face now wields to ever familiar stare for the coming battle. He slides into the ring, his eyes remaining on those of Dante, and rises to a knee with his fist on the mat and gives a smirk over to his opponent before drawing himself to full height and drawing back to his corner of the ring.

DING! DING! DING!

The match is now underway and the Son of Sin grabs the middle ropes, pulling himself to his feet. His opponent Mark Storey saunters from his corner of the ring to meet Cross in the center. The two men stare each other down as each man looks to make an impact in their return to the company. Each man looks to start anew. Storey outstretches his arms to initiate the lock-up, which Cross accepts. Storey, the bigger of the two may have the upper hand in this test of strength and as truth he swivels around, gets behind Cross and maneuvers into a Side Headlock on his opponent. This lasts little to no time as Cross takes a step forward and with his hands on Storey’s back, pushes The Monarch off and away to the ropes. Storey runs to the ropes from the push. Cross follows. Storey hits the ropes and rebounds, catches a glimpse of Cross as he flies by. Mark puts the brakes on his run in the middle of the ring and spins around to meet Cross on his own return from the ropes. What he meets is the swinging arm of Dante’s Lariat. Storey ducks the Lariat attempt and with a quickness, reaches back and wraps his arm around Cross’s neck and pulling the superstar backwards for the No Deliverance! Cross’ back arches as he pops back off from the move before falling to his knees in the ring. Storey wastes no time as he runs at the ropes in front of Cross and in sliding fashion, going to his knees from the momentum, hits a Lariat from his knees onto the kneeling Dante Cross. The back of the Son of Sin’s head hits the mat hard while Storey looks to capitalize and goes for the early pin. ONE!---Cross kicks out and reaches out to the ropes as well.

Storey lifts himself up off his opponent. Cross pulls himself with the ropes and rolls out of the ring to catch his breath, leaving Storey in the ring to gloat at his handling of the match thus far. Dante Cross is a well learned wrestler, having been in the ring a number of years, but Mark Storey’s been around longer. Storey’s won accolades that have manifested the superior personality that dwells in him. And Cross, Dante Cross has longed for gold in XWA for a long time now, last holding a strap in 2010. The look on his face as he walks along the ringside is that of annoyance to be sure. It’s only the early goings and Storey has already gotten the better of him. Cross hops back onto the ring apron, staring as Storey as he does, and creeps back through the ropes and into the ring. As he and Storey meet again in the center of the ring, Cross cocks his neck this way and that, limbering up in a way. He offers the lock-up to Storey who accepts. Again Storey looks to have superior strength here, and Cross knows this. The Son of Sin brings himself closer to Storey, their interlocked hands being outstretched to either side of them, and when their bodies are close, Cross Headbutts Storey in his chest, taking the air out of the superstar. Storey releases his grip in the lock and Cross is quick to make his neck move as he does a Baseball Slide to the mat, taking Storey’s left leg from under him in the process and sending The Monarch to a knee. A quick rebound to the ropes and on his return Cross uses the still raised knee as a step and with his other leg he sends a knee straight to the head of Mark Storey with a Shining Wizard! Storey’s head cocks back from the move and he collapses onto the mat. Cross falls on top of him and hooks the leg. ONE! TWO! TH—Storey is able to kick out before the referee’s hand hits the mat for the third time!

Dante looks to be chewing his tongue after that failed pinning attempt as he sits beside his fallen opponent on the mat. He rises and for good measure kicks Storey in the gut before leaping over his body and running to the ropes. A small leap onto the middle rope—another onto the top—Cross springboards backwards with a corkscrew for the Deadliest Moonsault Evermore! He looks to hit it—but no—Mark Storey rolls out of the way and Cross having the awareness about him lands on his feet. But he doesn’t stay there long as Storey, in a sort of pouncing dive, throws himself forward in a roll at the legs of Dante Cross! He sends Cross face first into the mat after taking his legs out from under him and gives the Son of Sin no time to care about that pain as he grabs the Crucifixionist’s leg and bends it backwards as he himself gets into position to lock in a Single Legged Boston Crab. Dante struggles against the submission but to no avail. For a time that is. With one leg under Storey’s control, Cross uses the other to send back awkward kicks at his opponent, but only as a distraction as he attempts to make it to the ropes. Storey looks back and sees Cross nearing the ropes and lets go of the submission but before Cross can get up, Storey pulls the leg, drawing him away from the ropes and after a slight gesture to his elbow, leaps forward and falls on Cross with a Falling Elbow to the square of his back, causing the Son of Sin to cry out in shock moreso than pain as the point of Storey’s elbow strikes true. Storey rises and goes down again with another elbow to Cross’ back, relishing it all as his grin grows bigger with each successful move. The Monarch rises fully this time and leaps high for a more impactful elbow. He aims for the back of Dante’s head this time on his descent. What he gets is canvas and a jolt of pain running up his arm with Cross having rolled out of the way at the last second. The canvas is hard and unforgiving and when putting such force and driving in with a focused area expecting an opponent as a cushion but getting naught, the result will be as is seen in the ring now with Storey writhing on the mat holding his elbow in pain. Cross doesn’t look to be planning to leave Storey to his own devices though as he grabs the head of his opponent and pulls him to his feet. With a push, he sends Mark into the corner and from a run and a leap, slams into Storey with a Leaping Forearm smashing The Monarch in the face. Storey slumps in the corner but Cross rights him before using the ropes as steps and bringing Storey with him as he sets up in the corner raining down shots as he does. With Mark Storey in a sitting position on the top rope and Cross having just given him a ringing strike to the top of his skull, the Son of Sin looks from the ring to the outside, as if deciding his next move. His eyes set on the announce table on the outside and a devious grin draws itself onto his face. He leaps onto Storey’s shoulders in swift fashion and with his legs wrapped around Storey, swings around for a Hurricanrana to the outside—but Storey holds onto the ropes to halt the move! Cross maintains his grip on Storey with his legs but now hangs over the ropes. A powerful midsection comes into play here as he lifts himself up unassisted by the ropes and sets himself back onto the shoulders of Mark Storey. The Monarch though has fully regained awareness and with Cross still on his shoulders, rises in the corner and brings his hands up and pushes Cross off and away to the outside. The crowd lets out an array of shock and aw as Dante has been thrown off of Storey but somehow managed to teeter on the top rope. He windmills for a second but looks to right himself. Cross looks over as Storey but sees only the black of a boot as Storey kicks Cross square in the face and out of the ring! He’s going to hit the announce table! Cross crashes into the side of the announce table in sickening fashion. He struck the corner, perhaps simply going through it would have been more of a blessing as his head hit the side in an unfortunate way. The referee goes to the outside to check on him. Cross shrugs off the referee and pulls at the announce table to draw himself to his feet. He slumps over the announce table for a moment to gather himself. In the ring, Storey steadies himself on the top rope as he looks down at his opponent on the outside. He favors the right elbow that he’d nicked earlier in the match as he shakes his head, second thoughts no doubt running through his mind. Throwing it all away, he leaps from the top rope to the outside to come crashing down onto Dante still slumped over the announce table. He falls—Cross reacts! The Son of Sin has pulled one of the small television screens from the announcer’s table and throws it straight at the flying Mark Storey! Cross leaps out of the way and Storey goes crashing through the announce table. Dante crawls on the floor to get away from the wreckage before turning around and flopping down beside the ring, leaning against it for a time as he looks over at his opponent in the broken mess of the announce table. The referee has checked on Storey and has now started the count. Dante hears it and stumbles over to gather up The Monarch and bring him back into the ring. Its slow going as Storey looks to be out of it, but Cross is able to get him in the ring before the count of EIGHT. With a grunt, Cross rolls Storey through the bottom rope and himself gets onto the ring apron. Putting his hands on the top rope, he leans back just over the side and with the momentum, springboards over the rope with a corkscrew and lands on his opponent in the ring for an adding umph before the pinning attempt. ONE! TWO! THRE—The referee stops the count and Dante looks up in surprise. Storey hasn’t moved but the referee only points to the ropes. Storey’s foot it just under the rope.

The frustration is evident on Dante’s face more than ever now as he pulls Storey away from the ropes and goes down for another pin. Just as he bends over, Storey comes to life with a Small Package for the quick pin! The referee slaps his hand down on the mat. ONE! TWO! THRE—Cross breaks away frantically, looking around in shock to make sure he was still in this match after the surprise pin by Storey. Still on his knees he turns around to face Mark Storey who is on him instantly—Storey wraps his arms around Dante and has him in a Front Facelock on the mat. Before Dante can react, Storey brings his knee forward, striking Dante hard in the head. With each knee strike he slowly brings himself and Cross to their feet while Cross starts to slump from the continuous knees. Dante’s legs begin to wobble and Storey takes a step back while still holding an arm of Cross. He yanks Dante towards him and hits off a quick Snap Powerslam, taking Dante to the mat. Cross is all but out now and Storey knows it. That smirk is all but a grin now as he feels it coming. He shakes off his right arm as he swaggers over to the corner. Storey takes hold of the ropes and leans forward as he watches Dante Cross roll over onto his front and slowly begin to get to his feet. Storey is getting amped now as he sets his feet. He’s holding onto the ropes as if they’re the only thing stopping him from charging forward. Cross is on his hands and knees now and gives a shake of his head to set his wits about him. Storey bursts from the corner with such velocity. The Monarch swings out his leg, aiming at the skull of Dante Cross. The boot draws near—hands move fast—the boot swings past! Dante had brought his hands up and redirected Mark Storey’s  punt kick! Storey missed attempt at the EXILED sets him off balance and he spins around—the MAS! Dante Cross hits the MAS on Mark Storey! The Son of Sin scrambles to get the pin! He hooks the leg! ONE! TWO! THREE! Dante Cross wins! He’s beaten Mark Storey with his own move! He stumbles to his feet holding the back of his neck as the referee raises his hand up in victory.
