Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki could return to animation.
The legendary filmmaker announced his retirement in 2013, but may be working on a project for Tokyo's Ghibli Museum.
"This is my guess, but I'm thinking it will be something short," said Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki in an appearance on Asa Ichi (via Variety).
Suzuki was clarifying his earlier comments that had led to reports the highly-successful animation studio was to close its doors.
"We're changing the way we make [animation]," he said. "We wanted to make a dream company. We thought we would make what suited us and not make what didn't suit us.
"We were able to realise [that dream] to some extent and we're very happy about that. But now we're at a point where we've got to think about what we'll do next."
Prior to 2013, Miyazaki had claimed to be retiring before returning with more films.
He has since been working on a samurai manga.
