Taylor Kitsch has reportedly been offered the lead role in the upcoming English remake of The Raid.
The Friday Night Lights star is thought to be close to signing a deal to lead the Screen Gems project, according to TheWrap.
Patrick Hughes is to direct the remake, which is scheduled to begin filming in January 2015. Brad Ingelsby has written the script, based on the original 2011 movie from Gareth Evans.
The film followed an Indonesian SWAT team that gets trapped inside a building run by a gang lord and his crew.
Frank Grillo recently joined the cast of the upcoming remake, while the Hemsworth brothers were previously linked.
Kitsch is also said to be in line to join the cast of HBO's True Detective for its second season, which would wrap production around the time The Raid begins shooting.
