| The next Doom has officially been revealed by Bethesda Softworks.
Unveiled at QuakeCon 2014, the next-gen project is in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Set on Mars, the game will have a similar feel to the original Doom titles, according to PC Games N.
It is built on a new version of id tech, id tech 6, and will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second.
In addition, it contains many of the same monsters from the first game in the horror-themed shooter series, including zombies, imps, revenants and cyberdemons.
It also implements a melee combat system, that allows players to perform a new range of attacks, such as ripping open a demon's head or tearing off its jaw with a chainsaw.
A launch window for the forthcoming release has yet to be announced.

| I'm kinda' looking forward to this. The original Doom gave me nightmare's as a kid and I stopped playing.

| Eh, they are trying to make it more like the original, which isn't like really any other FPS out today.
I'd imagine it's close to what Wolfenstein currently is. |
