Earlier tonight we announced a major tag team title match added to this month’s WWE Battleground PPV. At tonight’s WWE Smackdown television taping in Ottawa, Ontario it was also announced that AJ Lee will defend the WWE Divas Championship against Paige at the PPV.
The feud between the two anti-Divas goes back to the night after WrestleMania XXX, when Paige made her debut on the main roster – she is a former NXT Women’s Champion – and won the title in her first night. Two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, AJ Lee made her return to the company, pulling the same trick on Paige to recapture her title. Now the two will face off one-on-one at WWE Battleground on July 20th for the WWE Divas Championship.
