During the live event in Toronto, Ontario, Santino Marella took the microphone to announce to the live crowd that he has suffered his third neck injury and his in ring career is over.

Marella, an Ontario native, went on to say he never had the chance to be introduced from Canada, since his character is billed from Italy.

We previously reported that Marella was looking for another outlet to entertain the fans while still working for WWE.

I wasn't to much of a Santino fan, but I feel bad for Santino.

That sucks.. but I was not a Marella fan for a single second.

I loved Marella, comedy characters are needed in Wrestling. However he became dated and was lost in the shuffle. His heel days were amazing and his team with Kozlov was funny as hell. I think it would have been more interesting if He won that 40 man rumbles instead of ADR and actually turned him into a serious character, have a going from a zero to hero type story as well.

Im sad that the man had to end his career because his neck is fucked, but his character was done to death. They desperately needed to change his gimmick and they didnt.
