With players such as Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James opting out of their contracts recently, and many players in all sports opting out for a bigger payday, the question is...should they be able to do it? Or should they have to play out the first contract THEY signed and then test out free agency.

...

It's in the contract THEY signed. There are player options, team options, early termination clauses... This question doesn't even make sense because they are only doing what they're CONTRACTUALLY able to do. They don't go into the front office with a gun and say "let me test free agency or else bitch"
