Name: Vladimir Strife
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Hometown: Sighisoara, Romania
Nicknames: The GodKing, Czar of Scars, The Barbarian Lord, the Sinner, Wrath Personified
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 234 lbs
Character Base: Masada
Theme: 'Sumeria' by Devin Townsend Project
Alignment: Tweener (leaning heel. Vlad has no moral qualms about heel tactics, but only resorts to true 'dirty' tactics to piss off straight laced competitors who play it by the book. Given his expansive knowledge of the sport, he never feels the need to resort to such things in desperation. Eye gouging, using the ropes or hold on the trunks or begging off would be out of the question, but Vlad is known to wait til the last second to break holds, take out the referee, or surprise opponents with a weapon he's hidden in a pocket on his pants - usually a taser.)
Fans Reaction: Jeered by most fans, but praised by hardcore and old school die hards
Ring Attire (Pics permited): Long sleeved raven blue tee, Black pants, swat style steel toed boots, and black fingerless padded gloves, necklace with a Sword of Mars charm
Entrance Attire (Pics Permitted): Same + a black denim trench coat.
Gimmick: The Ultimate Challenge - Highly versed in the ways of the ring, practically a walking encyclopedia of moves and tactics. Vlad blends the ruthlessness of hardcore wrestling with the genius and expertise associated with technicians. The result is a destroyer of men who is constantly looking for a new and more challenging opponent, feeling as though he will be unable to ever truly step away from the business and retire until he finds an equal.
Fighting Style: Despite his hardcore fame, Vladimir is, at his core, a tactician. His philosophy is that a match is ultimately a matter of endurance. He seeks to output constant punishment, wearing opponents down. He never exerts more energy than the pain inflicted would warrant, staying away from high risk situations. He vets all of his opponents and uses his advantages over them to full effect, breaking them down bit by bit until he is able to dominate with little to no resistance. His mastery allows him to mix, match and alter moves as he deems necessary, leading to an unpredictable style that evolves and adapts to counter his opponent.
Capabilities/Skills (Scale of 1-10) -
Accuracy - 10 - Near perfect precision, the GodKing never seems to miss a move of his own accord and is known to block strikes by attacking joints, turning his opponents momentum against them.
Aerial - 2 - Vladimir's prefers to stay grounded the vast majority of the time, asserting that high-risk maneuvers leave you vulnerable.
Endurance - 8 - Strife's ability to keep going well beyond the limits of the normal man is well documented, with opponents often finding them frustrated when nothing seems able to put him away.
Hardcore - 7 - Having made his name in the business fighting and winning deathmatch after another, Vlad is well-versed in the hardcore scene, but isn't reliant on weapons.
Innovation - 9 - He possesses a seemingly infinite knowledge of the business and is able to adapt and alter moves on the fly as he sees fit to punish his opponents.
Speed - 4 - Vlad gets around at a reasonable rate, but is never in a rush. After suffering several injuries to his left knee throughout his career, he has been left unable to lift it very high and overexertion wears it down quickly.
Strength - 6 - Vladimir has enough strength to do what he needs to in the ring on typical occasions, but is by no means the strongest. Very large stars (around 300 and up lbs.) prove to be extremely difficult for him to lift and he'll often avoid doing so/
Technical - 9
Toughness - 9 - Having been through scores of insanely brutal and bloody contests, pain to the Barbarian Lord is a rather casual experience.

3. Son of a Bitch Legdrop - Legdrop across the length of the opponent, bringing his heel down onto their mouth

Finishers:
1. Skesis Driver - Sitout Tiger Driver '91
- Variant: Skesis Death Driver - Only used as a last resort in matches concluding a feud, this sees Vladimir hitting the Skesis Driver with his opponent's head leaned back, slamming them down upon their face. He usually accomplishes this through trapping their head between his thighs before lifting them. It is an incredibly dangerous move that has never failed Vladimir and has left a victim paralyzed before.
2. Lights Out! - Full force, closed fist punch to the face. Illegal in regular match.
3. The Stasis - Indian Crossface Submission
4. Scourge Of God - Snap Alabama Slam
Signature Match: The Asylum Deathmatch -
- Spoiler:
Created by Vladimir in 2007 as a way to end a standing feud with Brett Steele, the Asylum is a thick PVC coated welded wire mesh cage, designed as such to provide less flexibility that a standard cage in order to be more punishing to those who collide with it. The cage is designed to fit near perfectly around the ring, providing minimal space between the ring and the cage. It has no roof and no door, having to be lowered over the ring once the competitors are inside the ring. Because of this, there is no escape for participants until the contest is over and the cage is again raised and no risk of interference. Weapons are tied to the cage's ceiling for use in the match, ranging from basic implements like chairs and kendo sticks up to gruesome tools associated with ultraviolent wrestling. Victory comes in the way of a 10 count during which your opponent displays no signs of consciousness (even speaking or raising a hand breaks the count) or by submission. In spite of the latter being a simpler, less risky means of defeat, no man who has entered the Asylum to date has opted for it, with grudges being so ingrained in them by such a point that neither man would dare concede the match to the other. Two sets of ropes on opposing sides are usually removed before the contest, exposing two walls of the ungiving steel to make it easier for contestants to punish the other. To date, there have only been 5 Asylum Cage Deathmatches, each of which has featured Vladimir Strife and are known to be some of the most gruesome contests of his career.
Weapon of choice: Vlad's favorite is a basic wooden club about 1 1/2 feet in length that he calls "Lisa" after the only woman he ever knew as brainless and vicious as it. He also has a penchant for bricks wrapped in barbed wire, lengths of steel chain and chain whips.

Notable Feuds:
- Spoiler:
The Classic Rocker - Early in Vladimir's career, The Classic Rocker determined to torment the rookie, with the pair fighting time and again over the course of a few months. The Rocker was driven mad by his inability to beat the young star until he ended up shattering his knee with a sledgehammer in an attempt to finally put him away. The issue from this injury have plagued Vladimir ever since.
Brett Steel - An extremely capable former MMA fighter who was trained by the same man who trained Vladimir, KingBear, Brett Steel was a technical genius whose brutality and ring presence rivaled Vladimir's. Brett did not share the moral fallings of Vlad and stood up against his injustices, leading to a series of heated conflicts between them leading up to the creation and initial incarnation of Vlad's signature Asylum Cage Deathmatch. The ensuing contest ended up being so violent that the Asylum wouldn't see use again for nearly two more years.
Nicholas Carson - During their time back in EVPW, a rivalry began between Vladimir and Carson that would give way to some of the most bloody contests of eithers career. Initially beginning with a difference in styles between the deliberate Strife and the chaotic Carson, things would progress until Carson kidnapped Vladimir's pregnant then-wife, attempting to force him to take a dive and lose his first match in exchange for her freedom. Rescue came just in time and Vlad walked away with the victory in his contest nonetheless, but the pair would go on to face one another in two matches, one of which saw the Barbarian Lord shed so much blood that he had to be rushed to an E.R. afterwards and momentarily flatlined. They have steered clear of the other since, each understanding that it's unlikely both would survive another encounter with the other.
Crystov Razetti - First crossing paths while Crystov performed under the name of Draigon, Vladimir savagely assaulted the rookie star, hitting him with a new move he called the Skesis Death Driver and breaking his neck in an act of defiance towards GHW's management. The attack left the rising star paralyzed from the neck down, ending his career early on. Crystov would go on to defy the odds and make a full recovery, returning without his mask and begging the GodKing to train him without revealing his identity. Vladimir did so and employed Razetti as his ally, the young Japanese native proving infinitely useful as he seemed able to finding information on anyone with ease. Razetti would later enact his revenge, having discovered Vladimir's secret affliction of Schizophrenia and swapping his medication for a placebo, sending him upon a path of destruction that would see Strife turn against his closest allies, destroy his standings among his peers, and nearly devolve into murder on several occasions, all to ruin his life and make him feel the pain Crystov had all those years ago. Since then, Razetti appears to feel the score is even and works under Vladimir still, although the GodKing is still unaware of the revenge that was taken against him.
Metal Dragon - A young talented star who rose quickly in the wrestling world, Metal Dragon crossed paths with the GodKing by a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time in EVPW, where he tried to stop Vladimir from attacking a female star. Strife punished his heroism by trying to hang him, help coming seconds before Vlad could follow through with his intentions. They would later cross paths again when Vlad reappeared in GHW, having straightened himself out but finding Metal Dragon to have gone crazed and violent. Their feud would culminate in the fourth Asylum Cage Deathmatch, where Vladimir emerged victorious.
Amanda Hallsworth - A former stablemate of Vladimir's, she became the target of his affections when he became crazed without his medication. She spurned his advances before Vlad cornered her in her lockerroom, doing the unthinkable to her. They later went head to head in a match from which Vladimir would come away with the win despite her valiant efforts to avenge what he'd done.
Wolverina - Another female star whose religious beliefs brought her into the line of fire of the Barbarian Lord. She went on to torment Vladimir with the sins of his past and the family he'd lost because of them, with Vladimir attempting to punish her in return with the expressed intent of making her life miserable until she resigned herself to suicide. The last encounter between the pair saw Vladimir treat Wolverina to the same unthinkable treatment he'd done to Amanda Hallsworth.
Matthew Oliveira - A fellow hardcore superstar, Matthew Oliveira emerged on the scene in GHW with immediate success, drawing instant comparisons to Vladimir. The men went on to meet and form a partnership, but soon after became involved in the same ultraviolent tournament, where it looked like the undefeated hardcore stars would collide in the finals. Fearing for his partnership and his 22-0 streak, Vladimir paid off the official to ensure that this didn't happen, ending Oliveira's winning streak, and went on to defeat Alex Stall in the finals. Matt and Vlad would go on as KULT to dominate the tag team division before Vlad called out for anyone capable to come forth and provide him with a "true challenge", to which Oliveira answered. The men competed in a brutal match culminating in both being unable to answer a ten count. This inability to defeat Vlad drove Oliveira to viciously assault Vlad's troubled knee, putting him out of commision and ending his 256 day reign as King Of The Deathmatch champion. Vlad would return later and challenge Oliveira to the Asylum Cage Deathmatch, where the pair threw everything they had at one another, with Vladimir coming out victorious. The bad blood and high standings of the men would ultimately play a part in Vladimir's dissolution from GHW.
Hayden Hardkore - Being the top dog upon Vlad's arrival to GHW, questions quickly arose of which man would come out on top in a match. The questions would go unanswered, with each going their separate ways through the company, amassing championships and accolades and becoming two of it's biggest stars without colliding. Hayden would go on after Vladimir's leave from the company to be it's biggest star by far, maintaining an iron grasp on three titles simultaneously. Once tensions settled between the companies, the men at last met, deciding they would at last answer the long standing question in an Asylum Cage Deathmatch culminating in their retirement. Despite a highlighting of their staunch differences in many aspects along the road to their showdown, this remains the only major feud of the GodKing's career that maintained a mutual respect. Strife would ultimately defeat Hayden before they both went into retirement, with Vlad coming back out almost a year later and making his debut in XWA.
Maddox Paine - The famed Titan of XWA came to be Vladimir's first target upon his arrival, with Vlad viciously assaulting him in his lockerroom and asserting himself as a legitimate threat in the company. A match was soon set between them for Revolutionary Wars, but in an underhanded twist, Vlad had Maddox locked into a cage at ringside and insisted the contest was slated between himself and Maddox's friend and manager, Eric Goodman, who he would handily decimate. The following month, the men met one on one at last and an all out war ensued, with the younger, stronger and more agile Maddox nearly destroying Vlad while he tried to pick him apart and wear him down before finally turning the tides with his signature wooden club and bludgeoning the Titan with it in gruesome form.
KingBear - The grandest, most heated and out of control feud of Vladimir's career. KingBear was Vladimir's brother-in-law, long time friend, and the man who trained him and brought him into professional wrestling. The pair were inseparable, dominating the lockerroom in several stables and eventually co-founding EVPW. When Crystov Razetti replaced Vladimir's medication for Schizophrenia with a placebo, Vladimir slowly went insane, believing that KingBear was somehow holding him back and riding his coattails and would turn against him soon. In response, Vladimir attacked his friend, bloodying him with his signature wooden club in the middle of a stunned audience. KingBear tried to calm him down, until Vladimir threw their mutual friend and EVPW ring announcer, Lizzie Morna through the glass door to KingBear's office and the veteran felt forced to take action to keep anyone else from getting hurt. Vladimir and KingBear met in a multiman contest called Abaddon's Pit, in which KingBear tried to stop him, only for Vlad to defeat him and the remaining stars and come away victorious. Unsatisfied with this, Vlad would drive out to KingBear's house later and fire at him with a shotgun, thankfully missing him. He then knocked him out with the gun's stock before dragging him into a car and speeding off with him down a highway, threatening to swerve crash them into a divider. The men struggled with the wheel before careening into oncoming traffic, slamming into a car head-on that happened to be that of Vladimir's pregnant wife, Daphne. When Vladimir was convinced by Crystov that she had not survived, Vlad became even more enraged, challenging KingBear to the Asylum Cage Deathmatch and promising to end his life in it. KingBear reluctantly accepted, knowing it was perhaps the only way to stop the GodKing's reign of destruction. Near the conclusion of the contest, Strife slipped into a psychotic trance, allowing KingBear to hit him with his finishing Powerbomb and deal the Romanian the first loss of his career. Vladimir would spend months in a psychiatric ward before returning to the ring, but his trainer and friend never fully recovered from the injuries he had sustained and was forced into retirement from them.
