Ring of Honor was once again in TMZ headlines this weekend, as the gossip site claims UFC fighter Tom Lawlor is close to signing a deal with the company. Lawlor appeared at last month's War of the Worlds iPPV event, managing ROH Tag Team Champions Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, and has reportedly been given "UFC's blessing to work with ROH in his downtime."
While the fight is not yet official, Lawlor is expected to perform at UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City, NJ on July 16th. He is expected to appear at this month's Best in the World live PPV debut, but with a potential fight so close on the horizon, it's likely he will once again remain on a no-contact policy for the show.
On the MMA side of things, Lawlor has lost four of his last seven fights with the UFC, and while no official statements have been made regarding his future, officials will definitely be watching his next fight closely. If things don't go well, the professional wrestling world may be the next logical step for the former Ultimate Fighter competitor.
