I hope you all take the time to read this short introduction. I'm tired of having the "need" debate about staff members. Staff members are decided based on loyalty and production. They're not selected as a result from a need of administrative duties. Likewise, demotions aren't based on need.

There is no one way to be a good staff member and for the most part we've been very fortunate with our staff. I'm very proud of the staff we have currently and all of the staff members we've had during the last year. I sincerely want to thank each and every one of you. That includes the short-lived 2WWF support staff. Thank you for your efforts.

It's important to remember that not everyone has everything they want. No one likes every aspect of the site. It's life. That's sacrifice. Thank you to the members and the staff for understanding that it's not going to be perfect, but the pursuit of a better site for all of us is a worthy goal.

With that said, it's time to shake things up.

Note -- I had originally planned to reclassify Ruro as a "Techmin" or something along those lines. I never really came up with a good name. I had thought that giving Ruro a new name would help stress that he's staying on with a unique set of responsibilities. Ruro is helpful with the ACP side of things in a way that most of the staff aren't, and his expertise in coding is a great asset to XWA. Instead of reclassifying him, I'll just be making this little statement and telling all of you to shut the fuck up.


Demotions

Jay - I was going to reclassify Jay as well, but I thought about it and I don't see any reason to keep him on. Jay was once an incredibly valuable asset to this site but life has pulled him away. As much as I want to believe he'll turn around and become the member he once was, I just don't think that's the reality of things. I think, honestly, being a staff member has been a burden on Jay. His kids need him. His school work needs him. His life needs him... but we don't. We hope you stick around as a member, but I want to relieve you of any responsibility here that you may have had. Thank you for your work on this site.


Promotions

Minkaro - I've found it funny that Minkaro has thought I was playing around with him. I wouldn't have made jokes about promoting Huh instead of him unless it was a done deal. We get very little consensus in the admin room about anything, but Minkaro's promotion was virtually universally accepted once I told everyone to shut up about 'need' :shifty:I think we're getting an honest, hard-working staff member that's loyal despite his awkward hatred of so much of the site.

Burdur - The one no one really knew about. I wouldn't say he was on par with Minkaro as far as deserving the promotion, because I don't think he is. Because of that, Burdur will have a much shorter leash. Over the last month I've seen someone that used to be incredibly active and a pillar among the admin group become more active, and I think he's ready to take that status again. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is a mistake... We'll see how he does. Right now, I have faith in Smurfville.

There will be a thread in the admin room welcoming you two and giving you a quick synopsis on expectations.
