S8.) "Welcome To The Gemstone Generation - Again" | Danny Diamond & Skye Sapphire MJFR42R

Returning from a commercial break, the instrumental version of Fort Minor's "Petrified" hits the PA System, as the audience goes wild. Out pops Danny Diamond, with Skye Sapphire holding his hand.

Ted Cedar
"Welcome back to Sunday night Vendetta, ladies and gentlemen. Up next, Skye Sapphire will take on Nova in her second match, after gaining a big victory in her debut over Transocles, but it seems her boyfriend Danny Diamond has something to say first."

Joey Miles
"Fuck this, I'm going to go take a shit."

Joey removes his headset and exits the commentary area. While the fans continue to cheer for Danny and Skye, they make their way to the ring. As Miles grumpily passes the two on the ramp, Danny and Skye look at him in confusion before looking at each other, shrugging, and continuing on. They walk up the steel steps and Diamond pushes the bottom rope down and the middle rope up to help Skye into the ring before entering after. He asks for a microphone from Laura Watts, whom hands him one.

Danny Diamond
"Hello there, Nashville."

Like sheep, the fans erupt into cheers at the mention of their town. Danny grins.

Danny Diamond
"Heh, gotta love cheap pops. So, I've been getting a lot of questions lately. Why did I challenge Marquis Carter, of all people, to a match? Why not focus on a bigger name for your return to XWA Pay Per View? Will you marry me? I've probably gotten that one the most, to be honest. Anyway, I'll tell you why I challenged Marquis. It isn't because his manager called me a has-been. It isn't because he appears to be damn near as arrogant as I am. It's because I believe in the future. Marquis Carter, I've seen what this kid can do in training. I'm giving him a shot. So far, he's not doing so well in XWA and I think that's a damn shame. The kid has talent. Maybe he isn't doing so well because he's associating himself with a wanker like Demetrius Marshall."

The fans jeer for the mention of Demetrius.

Danny Diamond
"Yeah, bit of a prick that guy is. But Marquis...Marquis has so much potential. He could be a star in this company if he put his focus on wrestling and not on gaining help from that idiot. That's why I'm giving Marquis a chance; a chance to prove to the World that he can be something big. I'll give Demetrius one thing. He was right earlier tonight when he said I'm a former World Champion and a legend. He's right to worry. I don't plan on holding anything back at The Big Arse American Bash. I'm a legend because I don't hold back. I'm a legend because I seize every damn opportunity I'm given. Mind you, my goal is still the same now as it's ever been. I want the World Heavyweight Championship once more. However, I'm making a pit stop when I face Marquis. There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to beat this kid, although I hope he proves me wrong. I hope he shows me and everyone else something he hasn't been able to show since his debut in XWA. Marquis, bring your A-game, because I'm damn sure bringing mine."

The audience cheers for the confident Danny as he hands the microphone over to his girlfriend Skye.

Skye Sapphire
"Speaking of bringing your A-game, I've brought mine last week when I defeated Transocles in my XWA debut match. I landed the Skye High, yes that's what I'm calling it, for the one, two, three. I think the poor, delusional, uhm...Guy? Yes, let's go with guy. I think the poor, delusional guy doesn't even realize he's lost. I hear he's telling everyone he won the match. Silly chap. But that's the past. I was victorious then and I'll be victorious tonight against Nova, no offense dear. I'm a fan of yours. I'm a fan of David Michaels as well. I wish you good luck tonight when we face off. May the best lady win. I'm just relieved to be facing someone with a vagina this week. Speaking of people with vaginas, I assume you've all heard the news by now. At The Big Arse American Bash, I take on Shade in a Hardcore Bra & Panties Match. How fun, right?"

The fans let out a mixed reaction for the match, mostly consisting of cheers.

Skye Sapphire
"Shade made the challenge and, against Danny's wishes, I accepted it. I know you're not happy about it, dear, but you'll get over it. I know some of you must be thinking why? Why would I accept a challenge for a Hardcore Bra & Panties match against one of the most sadistic wrestlers in the business? I mean surely a man who would willingly compete in a Bra & Panties match isn't that mentally stable. So why? Why accept it? It's simple, really. I do whatever I want, whenever I want. And what do I want? I want to prove that women can be just as hardcore as men. I want to prove that anything a man can do, I can do better. Sure, I've never been in a hardcore match per-se. Hell, I've only had one match before my XWA debut last week. However, I think I proved last week that all of my training with Danny has made me an excellent wrestler. Well, Danny hasn't just taught me how to wrestle. He taught me how to fight. Oh yes, at The Big Arse American Bash, it will be a fight. Shade, you claim you're not one of those douchebags who thinks they were born from Jesus Christ's anus and think they always win. Well, guess what? I am. I won last week, I'll win tonight and I'm damn sure gonna win at The Big Arse American Bash. One thing Danny didn't need to teach me is how to be confident. Get ready for the fight of your life, chap. It's gonna be a good one."

Skye grins, before passing the microphone to Laura Watts. Danny gives her a kiss on the cheek and exits the ring, heading back up the ramp as Skye waits in the ring for her opponent in her match tonight, Nova.

I liked it. Although it's weird seeing Danny as a face when I'm so used to him being a Heel. But it's still good regardless. Should be a good match.

Agreed with Myke, but I loved how your actually showing Miles hating Danny now and choosing to leave during his segment, it is something don't see done enough really with him as seems just so fitting. Solid promo, added decent hype to both of your scheduled matches that you had to this point.

Enjoyed the promo. I'm enjoying Danny as a face, and I'm curious as to how long it'll actually last.

I particularly liked Joey walking away from the commentary table during the segment. He's been Danny's biggest fan for years, so it makes sense that he'd do something like that rather than abruptly turn on him. Joey turning on Danny should be a slow burn (In fedding terms, at least).

Lastly; I'd be doing you a disservice if I wasn't honest. I liked Skye's part, but it seemed a bit forced.

The structuring of this seemed a tad awkward to me, and I like Skye, but she needs a personality that isn't just "female Danny Diamond". Keep at it, though. I'd be lying if I said that Skye vs. Shade wasn't one of my most anticipated matches to read in years. Funny
