According to the Wrestling Observer, TNA had more than 60 performers under contract two years ago, but now the company has just 33 talents signed, following the recent departures of Hernandez, Kazarian and Chris Sabin.

33 seems a lot closer to the "right" number than 60 for a promotion that does as little TV as TNA does.

Yeah, TNA was notorious for having far too large of a roster with handfuls of superstar not featuring for months at a time.
30ish seems a better number, as long as the talent is developed correctly.
