Times have been changing. Being just against a heel isn't enough to get you over the crowd as a face. I mean heels like Bad News Barrett and Bray Wyatt probably get more pops than most of the faces nowadays. So what are your thoughts on what makes a compelling babyface?

1) Beard

2) Chant

I agree chants are big when creating a face, since that's what the fans will be chanting. IE: Feed me more with Ryback or "YES" with Bryan.

For me personally, I always enjoy "badass" face characters. Although I love Cena, I dont like the type of face he is. The "superhero, rise above it all, peace and love" Superman type of face. I prefer the "badass" faces that will murder their opponent if they have to. IE: Roman Reigns, The Undertaker, Stone Cold, etc.

Identifying with his journey.

For me, someone who doesn't lick the crowd's ass each week, that's why I loved Stone Cold so much back in the day (before his What? thing). Even when he referred to the crowd, it was still very minimal and he concentrated more on being an awesome badass.

Not that I hate it when faces always go to the crowd (like Bryan is cool), it's just gets tiresome.

Basically.... How the crowd responds to them, in the vaguest way to put it.

I always liked the babyfaces in peril. Ricky Morton and El Generico are great examples of wrestlers who did that well.

1) Be a heel.

Seems the crowd always likes a heel. Especially if they put someone like Cena in their place. Also if they show signs of helping the good guy (like Bryan or an HoFer) Though they'd need to keep a sharp mind about them if they plan to entertain the crowd as they did as the bad guy.

2) Be original.

Easier said than done. They should look at what resonates with the people today and use that.

3) Don't be a typical babyface.

4) Have skills on the mic.

5) Have a sick moveset.
