There is a new report by SEScoops.com, who exclusively reported about Daniel Bryan's concussion back in January, claiming WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has apparently suffered a neck injury and will need a "minimally-invase neck procedure." According to the report, Bryan wll be out of action for several weeks, and his status for WWE Payback is in question.

This may be completely unrelated, but during Bryan's post-WrestleMania feud with Kane, the champ took three Tombstone Piledrivers, including one on the ring steps, and one on the announce table, during an in-ring segment on Monday Night Raw. At this time it's unknown if his injury and the angle are linked – Bryan was put in a neck brace during the feud – but Kane has always been known as one of the most respected and safe workers in the business.

We will likely know more in the near future, as either Bryan or someone within WWE is expected to address the injury on Raw tonight.

Bryan's head didn't take a single impact in one of those Tombstones, so that's rubbish.

According to F4WOnline.com, there was talk backstage at Raw last night that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan might be out of action for 1 or 2 months. If this is the case, the feeling was WWE likely won't strip him of the title.

Obviously it's too early to make a call and they won't know for sure how long Bryan will be out until doctors get in and perform surgery on Thursday. Until then, word coming out of Raw is that everything is up in the air until the surgery is over, but WWE very well might strip Bryan of the title if his condition is worse than it looks to be.

Good. They shouldn't strip him of the title, it would make the reign meaningless.

At the same time, him not defending it and just talking for 2 months also makes the reign meaningless....that's presuming he could even be on TV during that time too.

Anytime a title isnt defended its meaningless. Hell, even if the title defenses are booked weak its meaningless

Maybe it'll help him get more over as a face if he's stripped of it. Just like Batista's reign as World champ, he ended up getting stripped of it because of injury.

Everything about the title is meaningless, as we judge things based on a variety of things, but never intent. Regardless of whether Daniel Bryan is booked to look strong, the public opinion of his title reign's success will be about fan reaction, quality of matches, etc but not the intentions of the booker. Thus, it's fair to say IMO that it doesn't matter whether they strip the title or not when it comes to "meaning" as long as they have a good story that's executed well over the next three or so months.

That would work, but there's one problem - they've already stripped him of the title twice and people were sick of it then lol.
