Ted Cedar
Welcome back to XWA Vendetta #56, the 56th edition of the premier show of the Xtreme Wrestling Association!

Adam Dennis
Yeah yeah....it's the top show, but why don't I announce the following match. The newly-crowned XWA Intercontinental Champion will go one on one with Dwight Lights....it's NEXT!

It is certainly next as the music of the Intercontinental Champion hits the speakers. Yes, "Whatever" by Godsmack is heard as out from the back comes the now-two-time IC Champ, "The Demolitionist" Drake Dysfunction, clad in black and white apparel (something that Chris Sabin would wear to the ring now). A black and white jacket is what he wears on his upper body, with matching black and white trunks, knee pads and boots laced up nice and tight. He makes his descent down the ramp and to the ring with his fist raised in the air, bellowing a yopping scream to express his confidence and desire, even though fans in this venue cannot stand a heel when they see one.

Laura Watts
The following is a singles match set for one-fall. Introducing first, coming to us from Orlando, Florida, weighing in at 220 pounds; he is the Intercontinental Champion: DRAKE DYSFUNCTION!!!

Adam Dennis
These fans are still bitter after Drake took his title back from "The Taco Bell Warrior", I see.

Ted Cedar
Can't blame them. As the champion stated himself stated a few weeks ago, he doesn't need the fans to be a winner. He has certainly shown that by becoming a two-time XWA Intercontinental Champion in just a short time of being here in the XWA.

Adam Dennis
Gotta love guys who can talk smack and back it up with some nice action.

Drake is now walking up the steel steps and then enters the ring, walking up to Laura Watts and handing her his jacket and title belt as his music fades out.

The lights plunge into darkness as the unmistakable intro of “I Got The Power” by Snap hits. After some moments, not to mention the super-cool retro song, Dwight Lights slowly appears from behind the wizard’s curtain and raises a length of cable, stringed with fully-functioning light bulbs, above his head in the over-done crucifix pose ala Chris Jericho, shaking his fists intensely before spinning around on his heel with a pump-kick as the lights dramatically shatter on the floor behind him.

Laura Watts
And his opponent from Brighton, South Australia, weighing in at 224 pounds: "The Brightest Man In Wrestling" DWIGHT LIGHTS!!!

Dwight Lights steps down the ramp as arrogance swallows him whole, before skipping into a reverse slide into the ring, coming to a halt and counting the arena lights before kipping up and sashaying around the ring like a crazy person, which is interrupted by a stiff clothesline from the IC Champion. The bell chimes thrice as soon as this is seen from the champ, Drake lifting Dwight to his feet and giving him a Ric Flair-style chop to the chest of the maniacal superstar that sends him reeling back-first into the corner. Another chop to the chest causes Dwight to screech like a little girl, as expected from a man who is disturbed. An irish whip sends Dwight into another corner a long ways off. "The Dysfunction Champion" goes rushing to the corner Dwight was sent in, but is stopped by an elbow to the mush coming from Lights, who jumps up and sits on the top turnbuckle, measuring the superstar. Drake Dysfunction groggily ventures towards "XWA’s Lit Star", who catches Dysfunction in a front chancery before leaping off the buckle, turning in the air and ultimately planting "The Demolitionist" with a Tornado DDT.

Adam Dennis
Good god, what a DDT, hit to perfection on the Intercontinental Champion.

Ted Cedar
Dwight Lights, also known as James Best, taking it to the champ here. A win against the champion could very-well give him a future title opportunity.

After hitting the DDT, Dwight covers Dysfunction. 1...2...and it's not enough as the champion gets the shoulder up. Dwight then reverts to some technical action by wrapping the arm around the neck, a side headlock, if you will. Pulling Drake up to his feet with him, Drake shoves Dwight forward, grabbing his hand at the last second and pulling him in face-first into the shoulder. Dwight oomfs at this before Drake wrings the arm around and yanks on it. Dwight yelps in pain and continuously does so as Drake yanks on the twisted arm a few more times, softening up the arm before leading him to the turnbuckles.

Ted Cedar
What is Drake going to do here? He's positioned on top of the turnbuckles. What's he got planned?

Adam Dennis
You know, I'll admit that I kinda underestimated Drake Dysfunction. He did pull out an upset last week and since then, I've made it my goal to give credit where it's due.

As Cedar pointed out, Dysfunction is now seated on the top turnbuckle with the arm still in his grasp. Drake then stands tall on the turnbuckle, looking for what could quite possibly be an airborne attack on the arm. However, Dwight trips him up, leaving Drake crotched on the padding. "The Brightest Man in the XWA" shakes his arm a bit, tying to get feeling into it before doing what he does next. He sets himself up on the second turnbuckle, setting up for a possible superplex to bring pain to the champion. Tossing the arm over his shoulder, all Dwight needs to do is lift. He grabs a handful of tights and starts pulling up with all his might, but Drake is thwarting this superplex attempt by keeping his foot under the turnbuckle, the average defense against a superplex. Drake begins fighting out of this predicament by laying in some stiff lefts to the abdomen of the "Mr. Brightside", ultimately going for a headbutt that he hits to perfection, knocking Dwight Lights down to the canvas below. Drake signals for the end here ALREADY, the chorus of boos not causing him to relent as he stands tall on the turnbuckle once more. Leaping off into the corkscrew somersault we're already used to seeing, Drake lands the Dying Wish.....on the canvas below, for Dwight Lights rolled out of harm's way at the last second. The loud thump heard when he senton'd the mat is enough to tell you that it really hurt.

Ted Cedar
And that is why it's called high risk, ladies and gentlemen. Drake went for the Dying Wish, bu there was nobody home.

Adam Dennis
High risk but no reward that time, Ted. He's gotta soften up Dwight a little bit more before he goes for big moves like that. A rookie mistake by the two-time Intercontinental Champion.

Drake favors the backside, rolling off of it in order to pull himself up. No denying that the sharp pain is making this rise to the feet a difficult thing to do, but the determination and will to go on is being shown here. Drake is up on his feet, but Dwight Lights was waiting for him as he comes at Drake with a clothesline that sends him smacking the back of his head against the canvas. Favoring the head, Drake isn't quitting yet as he gets up following that clothesline. Dwight is looking for a second clothesline and hits it, sending Drake down a second time. Kipping up for the second time in this series of clotheslines is Drake Dysfunction, looking peeved right now. Dwight goes for the third clothesline, but it's ultimately ducked by the peeved superstar, he maneuvers around him to now-stand behind him, wrapping the arms around the waist. Before you know it, Dwight is hoisted up into the air before being dropped down onto his head with the German Suplex. "The Dysfunctional One" is not done, however, as he turns around, pulls him back up and drives him back down with the German again. Pulling Dwight up again, people assume he's going for a third German. Instead, we see Drake toss Dwight up, releasing his grip. Dwight ends up moonsaulting the canvas after that Release German Suplex.

Ted Cedar
Look at Dysfunction go with those suplexes, each of them perfectly executed. Dwight's getting a feel on what pain is here.

The pain on Dwight's face tells us that the last suplex really hurt as he's clutching his abdomen while showing us his best pain face. Drake doesn't relent on the action as he locks in the front chancery, pulling Dwight to a standing base. Turning this light-bright sucker around, he plants him down with the neckbreaker before float over him and hooking the leg. 1....2....Dwight Lights kicks out, favoring the neck after Drake nearly broke, hence the name of the move. Drake pulls him up to his feet in a bulldog hold. Then, setting his sights on the corner, he runs with Dwight. But Dwight has other motives in-mind as he shoves the already-running Drake Dysfunction into the corner. Drake's momentum becomes his enemy at this point as he crashes into the corner turnbuckles, Dwight coming from behind as Drake backs out of the corner and coming out with the Russian Legsweep. Performing a backwards roll off of that legsweep, Dwight Lights makes it to his feet and positions himself in the corner before bringing himself up to the top turnbuckle. Dwight Lights then turns around, preparing for a moonsault of some kind.

Adam Dennis
Dwight could be going for a moonsault here! Drake isn't budging....

Just then, Drake springs to life and clobbers Dwight on the back ith the forearm, crotching him on the turnbuckle before setting him up in aN inverted facelock. Seconds later, he plants him down with the Inverted DDT, the elevation of this move from where Dwight was at possibly doing more damage than it should have as Dwight is left "lawn-chaired" after that move. Drake then drags Dwight Lights in the center of the ring, spacing him out so that he's a few inches away from the corner. He pulls Dwight up to his feet, clutching him by his face and inaudibly tells him "say goodbye" before placing Dwight under him, setting up for some Dysfunctional Disaster.

Adam Dennis
Oh this could be it here!

Drake then "pulls the trigger" per say, hitting the Dysfunctional Disaster to perfection, spiking Dwight on his head, after which he pins him down.

ONE.....TWO.....THREE!!!

The bell rings thrice, signalling the end of the match, with Drake Dysfunction the victor.

Drake Dysfunction vs. James Best Empty
PostSubject: Re: Drake Dysfunction vs. James Best   Drake Dysfunction vs. James Best EmptySat Aug 17, 2013 10:39 pm

The bell tolls in the distance and both Drake and Dwight get straight to business, circling around one another in the centre of the ring with perfect symmetry.   The two young lions measure one another with glares of absolute intensity as they slowly close the gap between them before ferociously clashing with a collar and elbow tie-up, backing against the ropes nearby and rolling across them in a battle of strength, though Drake is able to gain the upper hand first, forcing Dwight into the corner behind him, rearing back his hand to chop Dwight however Dwight barges Drake backwards with a shove!  This doesn’t sit well with Drake, and the Demolitionist shoves Dwight right back, Dwight Lights then SLAPS Drake in the face, producing a distinct “OOOOOH!!!” from the crowd as Drake stumbles back in surprise, regaining his footing with a chuckle, shaking his head before ‘seriousing’, spinning back and clobbering Dwight with a lightning quick BOOT to the face, knocking Dwight through the ropes and to the outside!

Ted Cedar –
“Drake Dysfunction with a boot to the head and Dwight Lights is thrown to the outside of the ring!  Drake Dysfunction is clearly not in the mood tonight .”

Adam Dennis -
“Drake Dysfunction is one of the most intense motherfuckers on the planet.  You can’t just slap him in the face and expect it to not come back on you.

Dwight manages to land on both feet and stumbles back against the crowd barricade, while back in the ring Drake had already made a break for the ropes, bouncing back and zeroing in on Lights on the outside, dashing for a suicide dive, but Dwight throws himself forward, grasping hold of the ropes with a jumping high kick, Drake fakes the suicida and to instead spring backwards instead, looking to improvise and catch Dwight with a baseball slide, Dwight Lights rears back his head to dodge the bullet, pulling the rest of Drake’s body to the outside and firing off a flurry of left hands, answered by Drake with a flurry of his own and both Drake and Dwight trade blows on the outside.  Dwight Lights wins over the scuffle with a quick knee, taking Drake by the wrist and slinging him at the steel steps with an irish whip, the ever nimble Drake leaps over the aluminium like a track athlete, Dwight Lights gives chase but Drake puts his best foot forward and swiftly dropkicks the stairs right into Dwight’s path, putting Dwight;s pace to an abrupt halt before Drake clips Dwight with a stiff roundhouse kick, sending Dwight into a spin.  “ONE!!!” the referee exclaims, a friendly reminder from the official that the count-out rule still applies

Ted Cedar –
“Drake Dysfunction with a boot to the head to get this crowd going quickly, Drake holding no punches back… or kicks for that matter in this instance.  Something tells me this is gonna be good.”

Adam  Dennis -
You know something Ted, some of the guys in the back have been bringing this match up, from what I heard there is definitely some bad blood between these two guys for whatever reason, very fresh bad blood apparently, I think this is more than just any ordinary match, I think we are in for something more tonight, I don’t know

Dig fires off a flurry of left hands, answered by Drake with a flurry of his own and both Drake and Dwight trade blows on the outside.  Dwight Lights wins over the scuffle with a quick knee, taking Drake by the wrist and slinging him at the steel steps with an irish whip, the ever nimble Drake leaps over the aluminium like a track athlete, Dwight Lights gives chase but Drake puts his best foot forward and swiftly dropkicks the stairs right into Dwights path, Lights bowling over them dramatically.  “ONE!!!” the referee exclaims, a friendly reminder from the official that the count-out rule still applies having the upper hand however Drake takes Dwight from the mat regardless and smashes him in the face with a forearm for good measure, taking Dwight for a spin before propelling him against the stairs spine-first, “TWO!!” the referee shouts, his voice of authority diminished by the groan of anguish as Dwight Lights cries out, Drake snatching Dwight by the neck and peeling him onto his feet, but Dwight Lights furiously clubs his way back into the fight “THREE!” the ref chants, his tone beginning to change .

Ted Cedar –
“The official beginning to stress the fact that these two men need to get back into the ring, things are becoming very intense very quickly…”

“FOUR!”  as neither Dwight or Drake seem to be paying any attention, Dwight hacking Drake with a back elbow to knock him towards the announcers table, “FIVE!!”  Dwight Lights charges at Drake with the forearm cocked, Drake tipping Dwight Lights over his head and onto the top of the announce table “SIX!!!” Dwight handstands, freefalling back and snaking his boots around Drake’s neck, Drake’s first instinct is to swivel Dwight through the air in a makeshift giant swing, unintentionally thrusting himself across the mat with a surprise HEADSCISSORS takedown!  Drake Dysfunction, having been scattered across the thin rubber mats, propping himself up in a defiant push-up, shakes off the daze and gazes back at The Brightest Man In Wrestling rushing toward him, Dwight ploughing into his face with a sliding forearm smash or, to be particular, Masato Tanaka’s Sliding D!!!

Ted Cedar –
“ What a carnival ride!  An amazing maneouvre from Dwight Lights and Drake is thrown across the floor… what are we watching here, this is something else.”

Adam  Dennis -
“High octane action right here, I can honestly say I was not expecting to be so engaged in this one, just wow right from the bell.”

Dwight Lights takes Drake by the neck and dumps the bewildered Demolitionist into the ring, skipping upon the apron he grasps the ropes tightly looking to flip over them and across Drske with a hilo but Drake somersaults backwards, leaving Dwight to touch base with the mat and clumsily roll to his feet and Drake charges with a mighty roar and dropkicks Dwight Lights right in the chest! Dysfunction seizes the moment, looking to capitalise whilst Lights is winded on the mat, snagging Dwight Lights for his deadly Clincher submission, bridging his body back over Dwight’s but Lights, in a panic, rolls sideways almost immediately, grinning as he suddenly is pinning Drake to the mat with his body weight, taking Drake completely by surprise!

Ted Cedar –
“What’s this?!!”

Adam Dennis –
“Slippery little sucker isn’t he!:

1!!!

2!!

3!!!

DING DING DING!!!

Ted Cedar –
“That was certainly unexpected! Dwight Lights just stole the win here!”

“HERE IS YOUR WINNER… DWIGHT LIGHTS!”

And the show goes on.
