Marquis Carter VS. Shade
Singles Match

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The atmosphere in the arena tonight is one full of enthusiasm from all the memorable matches that transpired at United Xtreme. However it seems the excitement may not continue for much longer as the first match of the night pits the tremendously demented Shade against a rookie known as "The Black Machine". From what's gathered so far about Marquis Carter, he's not pleasant backstage which seems to be transitioning into the ring and with the audience. Regardless of seeing himself as a machine, the former Hardcore Champion manages to tower over Marquis by two inches and initiates the match by charging at Marquis with an effortless clothesline out of nowhere that sends the Missouri native down to the mat. Growing annoyed, Marquis stands up instantaneously, looking to drive his fist into Shade's face, but Shade catches his curled hand and twists it, slamming his knee into Marquis' abdomen in the process. With Marquis in a bending position, Shade moves his arm to let go of his opponent's fist and hooks both of his arms behind Marquis' head into a butterfly hold. Keeping the hold maintained momentarily, "The Ultimate Synner" falls back, pulling Marquis' head back and colliding his face against the canvas with a swift and brutal double underhook DDT! Instead of pinning his foe, Shade simply stands up, absolutely unimpressed at this so-called "Black Machine".
Ted Cedar: "And we're off to what might just be a quick match, ladies and gentlemen."
Joey Miles: "Which would be a fucking shame. This guy's nickname is 'The Black Machine' and this would really make him seem like a joke if he lost this early."
Shade stands in the opposite corner, waiting for Marquis to get up as Demetrius Marshall, Marquis' manager, starts hitting the canvas to urge Marquis back up. With fury in his eyes, Marquis uses his fists to get back up to a vertical base, staring at Shade. Suddenly, Marquis runs at the New York native, looking to slam him against the turnbuckles, but Shade swiftly sidesteps. Unfortunately for the bipolar maniac, Marquis predicted such a tactic so he stops in his tracks before he collides and manages to wrap a hand around Shade's throat, pushing him against the ropes. The referee comes over, shouting at Marquis to back up, except Marquis doesn't seem to care. "The Black Machine" stays there a little longer, choking "The Terror of Death" out until the official decides to start a count-out. Breaking the cheap hold, Marquis changes his hold to Shade's semi-lengthy hair and runs away from the ropes. He jumps into the air and lands in a sitting position as he drives Shade's face down with a rough bulldog. Wanting to keep control of the match, Marquis locks in his signature "Boston's Chicken" Boston crab submission as Shade is left in the middle of the ring, nowhere to go!
Joey Miles: "See, that's more like it! Give that nickname some good use!"
Ted Cedar: "But if memory serves me correctly, Shade isn't one to give up easily, and it seems as if Shade is only getting angry... which won't bode well for Marquis."
Joey Miles: "How'd you pronounce his French-ass name correctly?"
Extending his arms as far as they can possibly go, Shade has no luck in reaching for the ropes. With his manager cheering him on, Marquis smirks as he believes he has a solid victory over a former Hardcore Champion locked in. However, as the situation gets more bleak for Shade, the frantic wrestler starts pounding his fists against the canvas. "Hell's Pyromaniac" utilizes all possible strength inside himself to start crawling towards the ropes. It doesn't take him long to grasp the bottom rope, prompting the referee to get involved for a count-out. As Marquis continues the submission for a couple of seconds, Demetrius gets in Shade's face and starts yelling at Shade to give up, only further angering the New York native. Marquis ultimately lets the submission go much to his displeasure, returning his foe to a vertical base instantaneously after. Out of nowhere, Shade slams his elbow into Marquis' abdomen, following up with a couple punches. Breathing heavily, the bipolar maniac rapidly smacks Marquis' chin with a swift European uppercut. Staggering in place, Shade continues his little window of opportunity by jumping into the air and dropkicking Marquis back down towards the center of the ring. As Shade hits the mat, he stares at Demetrius with fury in his eyes, ready to pounce.
Ted Cedar: "If I was Demetrius, I would get away from the ring."
Joey Miles: "I would love to say that Shade wouldn't do anything to the old guy... but fuck that, he'll fuck him up bad."
As Marquis gradually returns to his feet, Shade stands up tall, focusing on his enemy once more. With no remorse whatsoever, Shade greets Marquis with a harsh punch to the top of his opponent's head. Seemingly angry, "The Black Machine" throws a sudden left punch, which Shade grabs hold of, raising Marquis' arm over his head. The former Hardcore Champion then winds his other fist back and drives it into the side of Marquis' ribcage, performing his infamous "Temporary Death" heart punch! A look of intense sharp pain comes over Marquis as he collapses to the mat. The official checks in on him as Shade turns his attention to Demetrius once more. With the referee preoccupied, "The Ultimate Synner" exits the ring, marching towards Demetrius as he starts pleading not to do anything. Unfortunately for the manager, Shade has other plans in mind. He quickly lunges towards Demetrius and knocks him down with a big boot. The referee listens to the crowd's sudden change of tone and spots what Shade's doing. However, since Demetrius is technically not interfering, Shade isn't breaking any rules and can't be disqualified; he can be counted out, which the ref begins. (1) Shade makes haste and hoists Demetrius up onto the top of the steel steps, feet-first. (2) With a look of arrogance, Shade lifts his boot while lifting Demetrius slightly, planting the bottom of his boot against the back of Demetrius' head for a thunderous "FUCKING BLASPHEMY!" rope (or in this case, steel step) hung curb stomp against the padded floor!
Joey Miles: "Jesus fucking Christ, it's turning into fucking American History X in here."
Ted Cedar: "This is just uncalled for. It really is. Demetrius did absolutely nothing wrong."
(3) The adjudicator starts bellowing at Shade to get back in the ring now and stop what he's doing. (4) Having not paid attention to Marquis, Shade looks in the squared circle to notice that Marquis is no longer inside it. (5) Like a bat out of Hell, Marquis tackles Shade against the barricade, causing the fans nearby to scatter in enjoyment, as well as restarting the count. (1) Punch after punch, it appears that Marquis didn't appreciate Shade laying his fingers on his manager, making sure to pummel Shade's face in. (2) After about ten quick and painful jabs, Marquis' grabs his opponent's arm and drags him away from the barricade, lifting Shade up into a fireman's carry and (3) throwing Shade's legs out in front of him to spin them out, planting Shade's face and upper body on the floor with his finishing "Pizza Maker" Fireman's carry facebuster! (4) Checking on his manager, it appears as if Demetrius is knocked out. (5) Wasting no more time, Marquis picks Shade up over his shoulder with apparent ease and rolls him into the ring, following after. He covers Shade. ONE... TWO... THRE - KICKOUT! A stunned Marquis looks at the referee in disbelief as he pins Shade again. ONE... TW - KICKOUT! Shade starts laughing manically for reasons unknown as Marquis' look of anger and disbelief turns into one of confusion.
Ted Cedar: "What's it going to take to beat Shade? He just kicked out of Marquis' finishing maneuver! And before that, he took a beating to his face! I'm certain he's going to have a black eye!"
Joey Miles: "I don't think you understand that Shade is laughing right now. Marquis just caused the lunatic to snap. You think this match is over? Ha. It's just beginning. Marquis should be glad it's not a Hardcore Match, or things would get bloody. Not saying they still won't..."
Despite the confusion, Marquis realizes he cannot afford to lose control of this match, as he feels he's close to victory. He returns to a vertical base and starts stomping away at the manically-laughing bipolar maniac; each stomp only encouraging more laughter. Starting to lose his own mind now, Marquis picks Shade up by his shoulders and proceeds to Irish whip his rival across the ring. Instead of rebounding, Shade grabs the top rope to stop and laugh some more, only further annoying Marquis who stomps over to Shade. Noticing this, "The Master of Syn" jerks his head around and lunges at Marquis with a striking spear. The demented superstar stands tall as the back of Marquis' head bounces off the canvas. Calming his laughter down, Shade looks over at Demetrius, now being helped by on-hand paramedics, then back down at Marquis. Shade jumps into the air, extending his legs out to hit a leg drop, just to stand up and jump again, but this time hitting a double foot stomp. With Marquis temporarily down, Shade exits the ring to where the old manager is. (1) The paramedics beg for Shade to back away, but this doesn't stop the lunatic from taking Demetrius and placing him in a powerbomb position. (2) Slowly walking towards the barricade, Shade ruthlessly executes a powerbomb onto Demetrius and into the audience!
Joey Miles: "Shade is out of his damn mind. It's beautiful."
Ted Cedar: "I don't think Shade cares about winning or losing at this point. I think it's all a mind game to him, trying to inflict something into Marquis."
Marquis is beyond furious now as he watches Shade harm his manager again. Getting ready to exit the ring, Shade slides in smirking, inviting Marquis to attack him. "The Black Machine" snarls and charges at the New York native, but his luck has run short as Shade manages to sidestep away, hitting a bicycle kick against Marquis' head as Marquis turns back to face Shade. Hitting the mat once more, and this time near the ropes, Shade looks somewhat disappointed at Marquis. He wastes little time and lifts his foe up, planting his feet on the middle rope. Looking to end this, Shade jolts Marquis up slightly while simultaneously lifting his boot, just to drive Marquis' face down onto the pearly white canvas with a sickening "FUCKING BLASPHEMY!" rope hung curb stomp! Still disappointed from the fact that more rage wasn't emitted from Marquis, "The Terror of Death" stands up and puts his foot on Marquis' torso after rolling him over, going for a pin where he seems absolutely bored. ONE... TWO... THREE!
DING DING DING!
Laura Watts: "Your winner by pinfall... SHADE!"
Ted Cedar: "So I was right? Was it all a mind game?"
Joey Miles: "Who knows? All we know is that it wasn't a very good debut for Marquis as that mofo got wrecked. And so did his manager."
Shade sits down next to Marquis, shaking his head as if he were unimpressed. After awhile, Shade exits the ring and spots Demetrius being helped again, but this time he doesn't do anything to the poor old man. Shade simply leaves.
