Jared Leto is planning to return to acting after his success with Dallas Buyers Club.
The 42-year-old previously took a five-year break from making films to focus on his band 30 Seconds to Mars. He returned to the screen when he took on the role of Rayon in the film Dallas Buyers Club.
The part won him an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.
Leto said that the film had revived his interest in acting and has opened up a host of new opportunities.
"I'm looking at scripts and reading scripts," Leto told AP. "Which is interesting because I didn't read scripts for years before Dallas Buyers Club.
"But now you have opportunities to work with people that you really respect or admire, people whose work has been inspiring and influential."
Leto also expressed an interest in getting behind the camera as a director. He said: "I think that would be really great. And when I have the right story to tell I'll certainly do that."
Leto's band 30 Seconds to Mars recently played a gig in Kiev's Maiden Square in Ukraine.
