Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos told the audience at a PAX East panel today that the studio has "grand plans" for reviving Rock Band and Dance Central for the new generation of home consoles.
According to GameSpot, Rigopulos started his panel — called Storytime with Alex Rigopulos — by outright stating that Harmonix wouldn't be announcing a Rock Band 4 or Dance Central 4. But the CEO did say both music franchises are in the studio's plans, with ideas for bringing them to possibly Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
"[The Rock Band and Dance Central franchises] are near and dear to our hearts and our minds," Rigopulos said. "And we have grand plans to bring back both of them with guns blazing at some point in the coming console cycle."
After five years, Harmonix stopped producing new Rock Band DLC in early 2013. Currently, the Boston-based studio is working on Fantasia: Music Evolved and Chroma, a musical first-person shooter.
